Lady Gaga’s dog walker speaks out after he was shot by thieves

Lady Gaga’s dog walker has spoken out for the first time since he was shot by thieves who stole her two French bulldogs in Hollywood last week.

Ryan Fischer, 30, took to Instagram on Monday morning to share two photos of himself lying in the hospital recovering from the horror attack on Wednesday night.

He recounted the terrifying incident and praised one of Lady Gaga’s dogs, Miss Asia, who avoided capture, calling her his ‘guardian angel’ for staying by his side.

The other two dogs who were stolen, Gustav and Koji, were returned to the pop star by a mystery woman who said she found them tied to a post in Los Angeles on Friday.

A manhunt for the two attackers is still underway. In his posts Fischer urged the LAPD to ramp up its efforts to bring them to justice.

Fischer is expected to make a full recovery after he was punched to the ground and shot in the chest by the dognappers while walking the pups on West Hollywood’s Sierra Bonita Avenue at about 10pm.

In the caption of his first Instagram photo, which showed him hooked up to a ventilator, Fischer described how Miss Asia ran over to him after evading the thieves who fled with the other pooches.

‘4 days ago, while a car sped away and blood poured from my gun shot wound, an angel trotted over and laid next to me,’ he wrote.

‘My panicked screams calmed as I looked at her, even though it registered that the blood pooling around her tiny body was my own. I cradled Asia as best I could, thanked her for all the incredible adventures we’d been on together, apologized that I couldn’t defend her brothers, and then resolved that I would still try to save them… and myself.

‘Hopeful that my calm(ish) and forceful pleas for the urgency of my care as well as the focused descriptions of the dogs would be enough to help me and get enough police and media attention to find the boys, I looked backed at my guardian angel. I smiled at her shaking form, thankful that at least she would be okay.

‘From that point, right as the neighbors poured from their homes and restaurant to us on the sidewalk, life has taken a very sudden and unexpected turn.’

In the second photo, taken after the ventilator was removed, Fischer continued: ‘I am still in recovery from a very close call with death and have kept myself (for the most part, I mean I am human) from the growing media story.

‘I will write and say more later, but the gratitude for all the love I feel from around this planet is immense and intense. I felt your healing support! Thank you. I am humbled and grateful that attention and focus from the police were enough to get Koji and Gustav back to safety, and I know they are committed to bringing these criminals and attempted murderers to justice. I am so appreciative of everything you continue to do.

‘To all my friends and family who have cried with me and maybe even laughed at one or two of my morbid jokes by my side or over a screen: I love you. Thank you for keeping me grounded now more than ever. All the dog videos and photos from my clients to keep my spirits up worked miracles. Seeing their faces light up when you said my name motivates me to keep pushing so I can play with them and see you again soon. I love you all!

‘First responders and health care workers: you literally saved my life and helped me take newborn walks, I can’t thank you enough. And to Elisha, my family at Haüs and @ladygaga: your babies are back and the family is whole… we did it! You have shown so much support throughout this whole crisis to both me and my family. But your support as a friend, despite your own traumatic loss from your kids, was unwavering. I love you and thank you.

‘And now? A lot of healing still needs to happen, but I look forward to the future and the moment when I get bombarded with kisses and licks (and maybe even an excitement pee?) from Asia, Koji, and Gustav.’

Lady Gaga, who is in Rome filming a movie, has reportedly said she will pay for Fischer’s $97,500 in medical bills.

‘Gaga feels horrendous about what happened to Ryan and wants to make sure he is looked after,’ a source close to the Poker Face singer told the Mirror.

‘She absolutely adores him and is forever indebted to him for his bravery.’

The unnamed source said that Lady Gaga also wanted to compensate Fischer for lost work and ‘has been wishing him a speedy recovery’.

Lady Gaga put up a $500,000 for information leading to the safe return of her stolen dogs Koji and Gustav, who finally came home safe on Friday after a woman said she found them tied to a post.

Law enforcement sources told TMZ that the woman was a Good Samaritan who recognized the dogs from media coverage of the robbery in which the singer’s dog walker was shot.

She contacted an email address shared on social media by Lady Gaga and was told to head to the nearest police station.

Sources also told TMZ that the ‘Star is Born’ actress will ‘gladly’ follow through on her promise of a reward.

Lady Gaga has not yet commented on the return of the dogs but is reported to have been in tears on learning that they had been safely found.

Her father, Joe Germanotta, has called for the two dognappers to be charged with assault and attempted murder for shooting Fischer as he tried to protect the animals.

On Friday, harrowing new footage emerged of the moment Fischer was shot and left writhing in pain in the street.

The video was taken on a neighbor’s doorbell camera on Sierra Bonita Avenue where Fischer, was walking the three dogs when he was suddenly attacked in the street at 10pm on Wednesday night.

The assailants shot him once in the chest with a handgun, snatched Koji and Gustav and fled.

HOLLYWOOD DOG WALKERS BEEF UP SECURITY AFTER GAGA SNATCH

The Gaga dog theft has spooked Hollywood dog walkers into beefing up their security.

Some are applying for concealed carry permits to be able to protect themselves if they too are attacked, and others are changing their walking schedules to avoid being out at night.

Anna-Marie Arredondo, the owner of Happy Heart Pet Care, told TMZ that she was learning jiu-jitsu classes too.

Renee Lutz, owner of Fetch! Pet Care said she is no longer letting dog walkers go out at night, and that she is arming them all with pepper spray.

Miss Asia evaded them initially then, once they had fled, ran back to Fischer as he lay on the ground, screaming: ‘Help! I’ve been shot!’

Lady Gaga broke her silence over the incident, calling her employee ‘a hero forever’.

‘I continue to love you Ryan Fischer, you risked your life to fight for our family. You’re forever a hero,’ Lady Gaga said in an Instagram post.

The star has stayed quiet since the dogs were returned, but sources said she remains ‘horrified’ by the attack.

‘Lady Gaga is beside herself about this situation,’ a source told ET. ‘Ryan is not only her dog walker, but also her friend. She is horrified that this happened.’

‘She is completely devastated and sickened by this,’ the source said, adding that the singer’s dogs are like ‘her babies’.

‘She feels somewhat helpless because she is far away in Italy but is doing everything she can and praying for Ryan, Koji and Gustavo.’

The LAPD released a description of both suspects on Friday. They were described as black males between 20 and 25. The car they were driving was a Nissan Altima.

When she learned that her dogs had been snatched, Lady Gage immediately offered the $500,000, ‘no questions asked’ reward which law enforcement experts have criticized.

They say it may not only jeopardize the investigation but also create a market for opportunistic criminals to target and kidnap celebrity pets then return them for handsome rewards.

Capt Jonathan Tippet, commanding officer of the LAPD’s elite Robbery-Homicide Division, said police were not involved in the reward.

Just days before the attack, Fischer had posted a video to Instagram of himself singing to Gaga’s pups and tagged Miss Asia’s official Instagram page. He has previously posted images of the dogs on a number of other occasions.

French bulldogs are in high demand and sell for anywhere between $3,000-$5,000. Those with pedigree lineage can also go for as much as $10,000.
