Lisa Curry admits she struggles with ‘pain and fear’ on a daily basis following the tragic death of her daughter Jaimi

Lisa Curry has reflected upon the anguish of losing her daughter Jaimi, seven months after she died at age 33.

Posting to Instagram on Wednesday, the former Olympic swimmer, 58, admitted that she still struggles to talk about her tragic loss, and experiences ‘pain and fear’ on a daily basis.

‘Our Jaimi. My brain has thoughts and conversations that my mouth can’t say,’ Lisa wrote next to a throwback photo of herself cosying up to Jaimi.

‘It’s hard to talk about the pain and fear that is felt daily. Life goes on. People say you get stronger… You don’t. You just learn to hide it better,’ she continued.

Lisa revealed that she ‘constantly stops’ to remember that her daughter is gone, and feels sorry that Jaimi never got to meet her nephew Taj, who was born two months after her death.

‘So many beautiful moments that she would have loved. But we still include her in everything we do,’ Lisa continued, before explaining that she and her eldest grandson Flynn Gruell, three, ‘talk about Jaimi often’.

Lisa went on to encourage people who are struggling to avoid ending up like Jaimi by seeking the help they need.

‘I hope you can understand, know and feel how loved you truly are, and that living life, and not just existing, is worth it,’ she wrote.

‘Keep fighting and don’t give up. Where there is life there is hope. Life is so precious and there’s so much to look forward to.’

She concluded her essay with a final tribute to her daughter.

‘Jaimi was so loved and is so missed. We hide our tears when we say her name, but the pain in our hearts is still the same. Remembering our Jaimi. 7 months.’

Lisa announced Jaimi’s death in an emotional social media post on September 15 last year – one day after her passing.
