Taking to the stage after the performance, host Chris Ramsay said: I am so happy to finally say welcome to Little Mix The Search. We are here to find the next big thing in music.

When the ladies took their seats, Chris added: ‘Now obviously Jade is currently isolating at home but we have her here.’

Jade then appeared on screen from home and admitted she was saddened to not be in studio.

‘She said: ‘I am doing alright, I’m obviously gutted that I can’t be here tonight but I’m happy that I can do it from home.’

Next to perform were Nostalia who were one girl down as member Mya-Louise was absent due to personal reasons.

The group performed Case of the Ex (Whatcha Gonna Do) by Mya and were praised as ‘the strongest vocalists of the whole competition’ by Perrie and received a score of 90 per cent.

The competition series was postponed earlier this month when a ‘small number’ of crew members contracted the virus.

Next up were New Priority who received a more mixed reception from the judges with Jesy saying: ‘Something was missing for me.’

However, Jade disagreed saying: ‘Jesy Nelson what were you listening to? The audacity! You should be proud of yourselves boys, well done,’ with the group getting a score of 87 per cent.

The statement read: ‘Jade has to self-isolate this week and will therefore be carrying out her role as Mentor on Little Mix The Search from home.

‘For this Saturday’s show, Jade will participate via video link, continuing to mentor alongside Jesy, Leigh-Anne and Perrie.’

People in the UK self-isolate if they show any symptoms or are tested positive for COVID-19. They also quarantine if someone they live with or a member of their support bubble catch the virus.

Despite mixing with the crew members in question, artists Jade, Perrie, 27, Jesy and Leigh-Anne, both 29, have gotten the all-clear.

‘They’ve all tested negative and do not need to isolate,’ a source told The Sun. ‘They will be regularly tested throughout the run of the series.’

A spokesperson for the BBC added: ‘We can confirm that a small number of people on the Little Mix The Search production have tested positive for coronavirus and they are now self-isolating following the latest government guidelines.

‘There are rigorous protocols in place to manage Covid-19 as the safety of all those involved in the production is paramount. We hope to be back on air on Saturday 24 October.’
