Lois Lane and Clark Kent FIRST LOOK: Tyler Hoechlin and Bitsie Tulloch

The first image of Tyler Hoechlin and Bitsie Tulloch as Clark Kent and Lois Lane from Superman & Lois was shared on Friday.

Tyler looked handsome in casual clothes with his prescription glasses as he posed next to Bitsie in a leather jacket with her arms crossed.

The famous characters were seen at sunrise in front of the farm where Clark grew up with a faint white Superman logo among the clouds.

The two have already been seen as Lois and Superman; this is the first time they have been seen as Lois and Clark.

Bitsie said on Friday: ‘From the very beginning, going back to when she was introduced in 1938, Lois Lane as a character defied society’s expectations of how women should behave.

‘Women at that point were more typically portrayed as demure, but Lois was always opinionated and unapologetic and uncompromising and a career-woman. ‘

She added, ‘Part of why she has remained so compelling for so many years is that she’s also vulnerable and fallible, romantic, and goofy, and a clutz — I just find her really appealing.’

The actress also shared: ‘I find Lois inspiring in how little she gives a crap about what anyone thinks of her. She’s not doing the work for glory or more Pulitzers, she’s doing it because she believes in justice and truth.

‘She is incredibly driven and determined and hard-working, and she really embodies the aphorism “be the change you wish to see in the world.” She is not intimidated by anyone. She wants to save the world with words.’

Also this week Tyler was seen for the first time as Superman.

His hair was swept back in an handsome, All-American man style but a hint of five o’clock shadow along his chiseled jawline offered the look a bit of grit.

The globe of the local newspaper/Clark Kent’s place of work The Daily Planet loomed behind him as he gazed off into the distance.

Leading man Hoechlin talked about Superman’s new look a bit, telling People: ‘I find that the new suit is representative of the show. Just as this suit is unique and set apart from the ones that preceded it, the story we’re telling about Clark/Superman at this point in his life is unique and something we’ve never seen before. I appreciate the opportunity to wear the suit and the responsibility that comes with it.’

‘But it’s always interesting when I’m asked how I feel about “my new suit,” because I’ve always felt that the suit doesn’t belong to me; it belongs to everyone that finds some kind of meaning in that suit, in the symbol on the chest. I just happen to be the one wearing it.’

‘I come from the world of baseball and a line of coaches that always preached that the name on the front of the jersey is more important than the one on the back. Because when you wear that jersey, it represents not only you, but your entire team, and everyone that has ever worn that jersey that came before you.

‘So when I wear the suit, that’s what it means to me. It represents everything that Superman stands for and has stood for, for almost a century now. And I look forward to carrying on that tradition.’

In the past Christopher Reeve, Dean Cain, Tom Welling, Henry Cavill, Kirk Alyn, and Brandon Routh have played Superman.

The new suit is meant to evoke ‘a classic, timeless vibe that both harkens back to the Superman we all grew up with while grounding him and elevating the suit in a modern arena with updated techniques and applications.’
