It’s been reported that the summer series of Love Island could be filmed in Jersey due to travel restrictions surrounding the coronavirus pandemic.
However, Laura Whitmore has insisted that we need ‘a little bit of sun,’ in the upcoming season as she implied that filming in the UK would be ‘miserable’.
Nevertheless, the pregnant TV presenter, 35, admitted on Dublin’s 98 FM station on Monday that she doesn’t know where the next Love Island show will take place as she discussed it’s long awaited return.

She said: ‘You probably know more than I do because every time I do an interview, there’s a different article written saying, “oh it’s in Jersey,” or “it’s in Greece,” or wherever, and I’m like, “is it?”
‘So many people work on Love Island. It’s a huge production, I mean hundreds and hundreds of people, and they have been working on it for the last year since the previous series, so I mean, they know a lot more than I do.
‘I feel like I just show up and swan in when they need me to.’
The summer series of Love Island 2020 was cancelled after production found it ‘logistically impossible’ to organise the show as the pandemic raged on.

With vaccines being rolled out globally this year, the ITV2 programme – which usually takes place in Mallorca – is expected to return to TV screens later in 2021.
98 FM’s Brendan O’Loughlin subsequently said he hopes for a ‘miserable and grey’ filming location in a seaside town to ‘shake things up a bit,’
‘You say that,’ Laura responded. ‘And then can you imagine ten minutes after watching that, I mean, that’s all we’ve seen.
‘I live in central London and in Ireland or wherever, we see a lot of grey weather. Let’s just have a little bit of sun! I think we need a little bit of sun, a bit of escapism.’

Changing topics slightly, she revealed her baby shower took place over a Zoom call as she talked about her pregnancy.
Laura said she feels ‘very lucky’ to be be able to work while expecting as she discussed resuming her presenting duties on Love Island.
It was previously reported that Jersey has been secured for filming this summer if production cannot take place in the show’s usual location of Mallorca.
A source told The Mirror that bosses are hoping Jersey will be blessed with warm weather this summer should Love Island filming take place on the picturesque island.
They said: ‘The Channel Islands get plenty of sunshine so it makes sense to hold Love Island there if we can’t get back to Spain.

‘Either way we’re going to put out a belting series. Viewers have missed Love Island for the whole of 2020 and they’re desperate to have it back. They’re going to love what we do, wherever we do it.’
A representative for Love Island declined to comment when contacted by MailOnline.
It comes despite reports last month stating that Love Island bosses had been considering Devon and Cornwall as alternative filming locations.
A source told The Sun at the time: ‘As a precautionary measure, producers have looked at several UK sites to hold the series, so if travel restrictions remain strict they have a back-up plan.

‘Cornwall has been optioned, as well as Torquay, the Isles of Scilly and even Barry Island, where Gavin and Stacey was filmed.
‘ITV bosses are also worried about a fan backlash against the show if contestants are allowed to go away claiming work reasons but the rest of the country is still stuck at home.’
According to Laura, the hit reality show has been inundated with applicants, ‘the most they’ve ever had’ as she praised the casting team as ‘brilliant’ and said they are looking for ‘great personalities’ similar to Maura Higgins.
It was reported in February that bosses are hunting for ‘brains as well as brawn’ as they are keen to include a key worker in the line-up due to the recognition.

NHS doctor Alex George, 29, and pharmacist Anna Vakili, 30, were both hits with viewers after they appeared as contestants on the fourth series of the dating show in 2018.
Dr. Alex has been working tirelessly on the frontline throughout the pandemic, and was recently appointed as a Youth Mental Health Ambassador by Boris Johnson after speaking out following his brother’s death last year.
A source told The Sun On Sunday: ‘The team have had over 100,000 applications and have been looking for talent with a bit of edge.
‘Some of the best contestants over the years have been those who don’t just want to be famous – those with some real ambition, a solid career and a story to tell, especially of the key worker variety.’
The new series is rumoured to be the ‘biggest in history’, as excited ITV bosses gear up for the highly anticipated comeback later this year.
