Machine Gun Kelly explains why he wears Megan Fox’s blood around his neck in a vial

Machine Gun Kelly revealed on Valentine’s Day that he wears girlfriend Megan Fox’s blood around his neck in a vial, in what many called a bizarre romantic gesture.

But the 31-year-old rockstar — real name Colson Baker — finally elaborated on the reasoning behind the unconventional display of affection in conversation with Ellen DeGeneres on May 12.

Revealing that the decision was prompted by distance when she was set to travel to Bulgaria to film a movie, he joked that the gift of ‘her DNA,’ was their version of commitment.

The Bloody Valentine singer set the scene after Ellen inquired how the blood necklace came to fruition in the first place.

‘Well, she was actually going out of town to film a movie. This was really new in our relationship. I didn’t have a passport either. So, she was going out to Bulgaria so I was kind of freaking out, like, “You’re gonna leave and I can’t even come see you”,’ he said.

And he continued to say that despite it being unconventional it works for them. ‘Some people give, like, a handkerchief to their partner or whatever…she gave me her DNA,’ he said before removing it from his pocket.

He continued to tell Ellen that luckily he got a passport with help from Bernie Sanders. ‘Thank you to the Bernie Sanders team. I made it to Bulgaria and the relationship is going strong so thank you so much,’ he said.

The Cleveland born rockstar first met Fox, 34, on the set of their film Midnight In The Switchgrass shortly before the pandemic.

Sparks flew immediately but both were in relationships at the time as Fox was notoriously married to Brian Austin Green — with whom she shares three children — until she filed for divorce in July 2020, and Kelly was dating Instagram model Sommer Ray, 24.

In a recent interview on Logan Paul’s Impaulsive podcast Sommer opened up about the overlap in the timeline, implying some level of infidelity on the singer’s part.

‘I go to Puerto Rico…he’s filming this movie…I wait in the hotel the whole time while he’s filming with her — I’m not really thinking anything of it,’ she said adding that she thought Megan was married.

Sommer continued to say that in retrospect things didn’t add up as he had barred her from attending the music video he asked Megan to star in (due to what he claimed were COVID-19 restrictions) and began to suspiciously turn off his phone before bed.

Overall she said that she was ‘happy for him,’ but they parted ways in a less than ideal way. ‘He made me seem like the devil,’ she shared.

After going public with their relationship, the Jennifer’s Body actress shared in a joint podcast interview with Midnight In The Switchgrass producer Randall Emmett and his fiancee Bravo star Lala Kent, that he was her ‘twin flame.’

And Megan and Colson have continued to go from strength to strength in their relationship, even sparking engagement rumors at one point before she shut them down.

Despite not being legally bound yet, a source told E! News last month that marriage is definitely in the future for the pair once her divorce is finalized.

‘[They] plan to get engaged and married. They are very much in love and have a strong and intense relationship…[and] have no doubt that they are soulmates and meant to be life partners,’ the insider said.
