MAFS bride Natasha Spencer reveals why season seven stars weren’t at the reunion

Married At First Sight’s Natasha Spencer insists the season seven brides ‘would have made good TV’ as she responds to claims they were blacklisted from the Grand Reunion

Natasha Spencer was notably absent from the Married At First Sight Grand Reunion, along with most of the participants from the seventh season.

Season six groom Michael Brunelli claimed earlier this week they were ‘banned’ from the two-part special because ‘they all went rogue’ and ‘ruined their entire season’ by speaking to the paparazzi.

Now, Natasha has hit back at Michael on Instagram, insisting that her season’s rebellious brides would have made the reunion more entertaining.

‘Obviously there is a lot of outspoken brides from my season that would have made good TV,’ she said, adding she didn’t know why they weren’t invited.

‘Michael said the reason we weren’t invited back for the reunion was because we went “rogue”, but I saw reunion stars sell a lot of stories before the reunion aired,’ Natasha explained.

‘I think that Endemol Shine [the production company behind MAFS] ultimately is for ratings and they like making money and that’s what they are there for…  they would have outweighed the “rogueness” [sic] as opposed to the money-making possibilities that they had, so I don’t know why,’ she added.

Michael, who appeared on Nine’s social experiment in 2019 alongside his girlfriend Martha Kalifatidis, claimed on Monday that Natasha – and other brides and grooms from her season – were blacklisted from the Grand Reunion.

‘They all went rogue. They sold their stories to the paparazzi so everything was public before the show even aired,’ the 30-year-old personal trainer said.

‘In reality TV, “off camera” doesn’t exist (anytime they aren’t filming). The cast of that season had all their drama off-camera and it made no sense to the viewers.’

'They ruined their entire season and it was s**t to watch': Michael, 30, added that with so much drama happening 'off-camera', season seven was disappointing for many viewers

‘They ruined their entire season and it was s**t to watch. I stopped because nothing made sense. So obviously they weren’t going to get invited back,’ he explained.

Natasha agreed that the ‘off-camera drama’ did make for ‘such s****y viewing’, but she was proud of her season for ‘rebelling’.

‘All the drama was authentic and it actually happened, but it didn’t get captured on camera because not everyone in the season was a production puppet,’ she cheekily concluded her response.

Notable brides from season seven who weren’t invited to the Grand Reunion also included Stacey Hampton, Hayley Vernon, and the franchise’s first-ever lesbian couple Amanda Micallef and Tash Herz.

Elizabeth Sobinoff, who first appeared in the 2019 season, returned in 2020 as an ‘intruder bride’ and was paired with footballer and aspiring actor Seb Guilhaus.

The couple, who split a few weeks ago, were the only stars from season seven to feature in the Grand Reunion, which concluded on Monday night.
