Maggie Gyllenhaal was spotted out in bustling NYC on Thursday afternoon as she chatted with a pal.
The 43-year-old actress and sister of Jake Gyllenhaal looked cheery as she leaned into spring in the city, draping a white blazer over her frame while going about her day.
She is set to make her directorial debut, recently wrapping production on a psychological thriller The Lost Daughter for A24 with Normal People’s Paul Mescal and Dakota Johnson.

The longtime NYC resident offset the city’s signature shade of black with a chic white blazer which she draped over her shoulders.
And for her day out and about she looked smart in silky black trousers and a simple T-shirt which she wore tucked in.
Opting for comfort she slid into a pair of Adidas’s sneakers which were adorned with olive green stripes.
The Secretary star slung a leather purse over her frame and sported light accessories that included delicate hoop earrings and a pair of black sunglasses.

She and her friend appeared to talk business as her colleague carried what looked to be a work-related document while crossing the street in a pair of clogs.
And as she was seen without a face covering, it could be assumed that she is fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
As of Thursday May 13, the CDC and President Joe Biden announced that fully vaccinated citizens no longer have to wear a mask indoors or outdoors.
Breaking into Hollywood as an actress in the early nineties, Maggie has continued to receive praise for her roles including a Golden Globe win for The Honourable Woman in 2014.

But she has now made the jump from on-screen starlet to director with her new film The Lost Daughter which is based on a book of the same name by Elena Ferrante. The movie wrapped production on the Greek island of Spetses in recent months.
The Colombia University graduate spoke about being attracted to the story’s ‘secret truths,’ in a statement: ‘I find that the script has attracted other people interested in exploring these secret truths about motherhood, sexuality, femininity, desire. And I’m thrilled to continue my collaboration with such brave and exciting actors and filmmakers.’
