The delighted couple shared the news hours after Marcel, 35, took Rebecca ‘curb walking’ – with one foot on the curb and the other on the road – to induce labour.

After a trip to see the midwife, Rebecca told her Instagram followers: ‘[The midwives] measure in fifths, so the baby is four-fifths down – and when he gets to five fifths, I go into labour. So I’m very excited!

‘Where his shoulders are is where I thought his head was, so he’s actually a lot lower than I thought he was. But other than that, everything’s fine.’

Hours earlier, Marcel took to his own Instagram account to share footage of himself enjoying a morning of ‘curb walking’ with Rebecca.

He said: ‘So me and Bex have gone out for a walk this morning, trying to get little man into action. She’s doing a bit of curb walking right now.’

Earlier this month, Rebecca pulled out all the stops to throw a spectacular 35th birthday for Marcel in lockdown.

The reality star was treated to dozens of balloons with poignant photos attached to them, a takeaway dinner from Essex’s Sheesh restaurant in a pop-up igloo at home and a family zoom call.

Despite being heavily pregnant, businesswoman Rebecca took to Instagram to reveal she had several surprises in store for the Blazin’ Squad rapper.

Rebecca first showed Marcel a room full of balloons which had photos attached to their silver ribbon, including a 3D scan of their unborn baby.

She next cooked the reality star tacos and saved a romantic meal in an igloo surrounded by red roses, fairy lights and candles for the evening.

Marcel later wrote on Instagram: ‘So Today I Hit The Big 35! I’m feeling so blessed right now! I’ve got the most amazing fiancée in the whole world! pulling out magic tricks for my birthday during lock down. Wow! You are the *goat emoji* when it comes to this thing!

‘I love you so much mama! I’ve got my first baby on the way and that is the greatest birthday present ever even if he’s coming a little bit after.

‘So grateful to have a family like mine, supportive and Loving I know little man is coming in to a world of love even in these crazy times!

‘And my Circle the love I got for my squad, my gang, my team, my bros and sisters! And all my Fans I love and appreciate you all massively. Big Love. I’m emotional right now.’

Days before Marcel’s big birthday, Rebecca fought back tears as she revealed she may have to give birth alone after the government introduced a third lockdown amid the novel coronavirus pandemic.

Rebecca took to Instagram to admit she ‘wasn’t able to sleep all night’ and her head is ‘all over the place’ as she’s two weeks away from her due date.

The influencer also expressed her frustration at the prospect of not being able to welcome her child at home as she confessed: ‘I don’t want to go to the hospital right now’.

The model wrote: ‘I’ve been awake since 3:30am. My spirit is troubled & my head is just all over the place.

‘So the government cancel all homebirths, your partners can’t be with your for your whole labour but your still allowed to go and live your best life in Dubai and come back like it’s nothing. OK. Makes sense.’

YouTuber Rebecca became emotional as she elaborated her thoughts in a separate video.

She complained: ‘I haven’t been able to sleep all night. I just don’t understand it. I’m literally two weeks away from giving birth, and they do this.

‘My only birth plan was to have a home birth, that was the most important thing to me… to have Marcel there the whole time.

‘I have to speak to my midwife today so I’m going to tell her how I’m feeling because I do not want to go to hospital right now.’

At present, the NHS website states pregnant women will be able to have a birth partner during labour and the birth if they do not have symptoms of coronavirus, while some homebirths can still go ahead.

But there may be limits on how long they can stay after the birth. If the birth partner has coronavirus symptoms, the NHS advises to have a backup birth partner.

The blonde and the reality star announced they were expecting their first child in July 2020, with loved-up Marcel popping the question to his partner a month later.

In a video shared to social media, the artist dropped to one knee after they pulled poppers which released blue confetti, leaving Rebecca, who said yes, in tears of joy.
