A Marks & Spencer store manager has gone viral after posting a hilarious TikTok video showing off supermarket’s ‘scan and shop’ feature.

Craig Field, 29, who works at the retailer’s Longbridge store in Birmingham, left people in stitches with his chirpy and high-energy delivery in the TikTok video. 

The clip has racked up 612,000 views and over 58,000 likes with fans hailing Craig ‘a new icon’.

It was then widely shared on social media. One Twitter user wrote: ‘Craig from M&S Longbridge didn’t need to serve this much but decided to anyway. Iconic.’

Another fan posted: ‘I’m on me way to M&S Longbridge (no idea where it is) as I want some of Craig’s energy. So pleased I’ve got M&S shares knowing Team Manager Craig is leading from the front. 2021 will be a great year…’

Another added: ‘He is an absolute energy. G’wan Craig mate, give it some!’ 

Even TV star Rylan Clark-Neal, who presents Supermarket Sweep, offered Craig a job, tweeting: ‘He’s got a job in my supermarket if he wants it. #lad.’ 

Craig has since confirmed that there will be more to come which has delighted his growing fanbase. 

He said: ‘I’ve worked at Longbridge store since the doors opened in 2015. I live just five minutes away and I know the local community and our customers so well.

‘When we started up our store Facebook page, I wanted to create fun videos and bring a smile to our customers’ faces.

‘I think my videos have been so popular because of my enthusiasm and energy – and my team have all been commenting on posts to say that’s just how I am day-to-day!

‘I’m so passionate about my job and wanted to show the amazing queue-busting solutions we have at M&S to make Christmas shopping easier than ever for our customers.   

‘I’ll definitely be creating many more videos in the coming weeks – and there may even be an appearance from Percy Pig!’
