Marvin Humes admits he’s grateful to have a son after years of being ‘outnumbered’ by girls

His wife Rochelle gave birth to their little boy, Blake, in October.

And, Marvin Humes, 36, has admitted that he’s grateful to have their seven-month-old son after years of being ‘outnumbered’ by girls. 

The father-of-three and his pop-star wife, 32, are also parents to Alaia-Mai, seven, and Valentina Raine, four, who kept their house ‘very much about glitter and unicorns’.

Marvin told The Mirror: ‘It’s family complete now. I’m so lucky to have three amazing kids. And yeah, having a son has ­definitely topped off the whole clan.

‘The house was very much about glitter and unicorns and all that girly stuff. And listen, it could be that again, who knows. But it’s nice to have some balance in the house.’

Marvin explained that his wife and daughters ‘aren’t big football fans’ and so when the football on he’s usually relegated to another room to watch the match, because: ‘I’m outnumbered.’

He continued: ‘I’m hoping my son will be a Chelsea fan, and when we’re a bit older we can go and watch the games and stuff I’m sure.’

The father-of-three expressed his gratefulness for JLS giving him such great career opportunities, but insisted to the publication: ‘first and foremost I’m a dad, and that’s my biggest job.’ 

Marvin also explained that he and Rochelle share the parenting responsibility, asserting that there are ‘no old fashioned routines in our house,’ and told how he typically takes charge of storytime because he enjoys doing the voices. 

Rochelle recently admitted that their son Blake is ‘frightened of everything’ as she reflected on having a baby during lockdown.

The TV presenter said although it has been a ‘weird’ experience because of the pandemic, she was able to enjoy a proper maternity leave for the first time.

The former pop star appeared on This Morning and spoke about the challenges of bringing up a baby who has little experience of the outside world, in comparison to when she had her daughters

She said: ‘I had a maternity leave which I’ve never had. It’s definitely weird bringing up a baby in lockdown. With noises, he’s frightened with everything.’

The mother-of-three said Blake was also taking time to adjust to new people after his grandmother, Rochelle’s mother Roz Wiseman, joined their household bubble.

Rochelle explained: ‘My mum is part of my bubble and got the vaccine, but he isn’t sold on her yet.’

Marvin and Rochelle first started dating in March 2010 and the lovebirds moved in together just three months later. 

Wasting no time, former JLS star Marvin then proposed to the The Saturdays singer on holiday in Antigua on New Year’s Eve in 2011. 

The happy couple tied the knot in a star-studded wedding thanks to a glitzy magazine deal at the historic Blenheim Palace in Oxfordshire on 27 July, 2012

The pair welcomed their first child Alaia-Mai on May 20, 2013, and four years later they added another addition with their second daughter Valentina Raine on March 10, 2017.   

Rochelle revealed she and Marvin have no plans for any more children after welcoming their son. 

She told fans in an Instagram Q&A that she ‘doesn’t want to say never’ as she ‘loves their little bubble so much,’ but as of now they’re done with adding to their family.  

Rochelle explained: ‘I feel very lucky and very blessed to have three healthy children, and yeah I think he will be [our last child]. I like to never want to say never because I love this little bubble so much.’
