The betting odds for MasterChef Australia’s outright winner have shifted dramatically since the season finale was filmed in Melbourne on Wednesday.
Before the finale was recorded, 36-year-old tattoo artist Pete Campbell had been Sportsbet’s clear favourite to win the Channel 10 cooking competition.
But hours later, the odds changed dramatically to favour youth pastor Justin Narayan, 27, who has very narrow odds of $1.50 as of Thursday afternoon.

Pete dropped to a $6 outsider overnight, while Kishwar Chowdhury, 38, is still the second-favourite with odds of $4.
TAB, meanwhile, has Justin sitting at even shorter odds of $1.08 to win it all.
Daily Mail Australia has contacted Channel 10 for comment regarding the apparent rush of money tipping Justin to win the contest.
Before production wrapped on Wednesday, three leading online bookmakers were tipping Pete to take out the thirteenth season of MasterChef.

At the time, Pete’s odds to win were $2.75 on Sportsbet, $2.25 on TAB, and $1.75 on PointsBet.
Meanwhile, the bookies had tipped Kishwar Chowdhury and Justin for second and third place respectively.
Kishwar is a printing business owner with two young children, and Justin is a Western Australian youth pastor.

Because the Channel 10 program is prerecorded, the outcome is known by industry insiders and/or MasterChef crew members.
While Pete, Kishwar and/or Justin may make it to the finale, there is one production element that could add a surprise twist.

Last year’s betting odds heavily favoured Reynold Poernomo, Laura Sharrad and series one favourite Poh-Ling Yeow for victory on the Back to Win series.
However, it was actually psychology graduate Emelia Jackson who won the show.
