Matt Damon and Luke Hemsworth take a bow as they film scenes for Thor: Love And Thunder in Sydney

Marvel’s Thor: Love and Thunder is currently being filmed in Sydney.

And on Wednesday, stars Matt Damon and Luke Hemsworth were hard at work as they continued shooting scenes for the comic book franchise on an elaborate set, nestled on a cliff edge at Little Bay.

Matt, 50, was all but unrecognisable as Loki, in a long, flowing black wig, with tresses past his shoulders.

He wore an elaborate, futuristic outfit, which appeared to consist of a green jacket with gold accents and large, pointed shoulders.

Matt appears to be reprising his cameo from Ragnarok in Love and Thunder.

In the 2017 film, the play was called ‘The Tragedy Of Loki’ and featured four celebrity cameos – Matt Damon as Loki, Luke as Thor, Sam Neill as Odin, and Cate Blanchett as Thor’s evil sister Hela.

Dressed in full Thor regalia, including a wig and fake beard, Chris Hemsworth’s older brother Luke, 40, looked astonishingly like his sibling.

From afar Luke could easily pass as Chris’ double, but in real life he is actually shorter than Chris, and given his brother’s intensive training, not as muscular.

Chris, 37, has portrayed Thor in the franchise for 10 years, but his brother was able to take on the role temporarily in 2017’s Ragnarok as he portrayed an Asgardian actor playing the role of Thor in a stage play that the real Loki (Tom Hiddleston) put on.

In an attempt to avoid spoiling the film, cast and security guards were seen using oversized umbrellas to shield the cast as they filmed their scenes.

The latest installment of Thor is being filmed in Australia after receiving a $24.1million location incentive grant from the Federal Government.

Directed by Taika Waititi, the film is expected to bring more than $178million to the local economy, create 2,500 jobs and enlist services from about 1,650 businesses.

According to Screen NSW, it’s part of a deal which will see several Marvel films made in Australia over the coming years.

The film is largely being shot at Sydney’s Fox Studios, but elaborate structures have been seen at nearby Centennial Park, as well as Little Bay.

In the forthcoming Thor installment, Natalie Portman is back as Jane Foster, and will also pick up the hammer and become the Goddess of Thunder (the female Thor).

Natalie was absent for 2017’s Thor: Ragnarok, but was a key player in the first two Thor films in 2011 and 2013.

Thor: Love and Thunder is due for cinematic release in May 2022.
