McLeod’s Daughters star Rachael Carpani reveals she’s ‘on the mend’ after being rushed to hospital after suffering acute abdominal pain

McLeod’s Daughters actress Rachael Carpani revealed on Monday she was rushed to hospital after suffering acute abdominal pain.

And on Wednesday, the 40-year-old shared an update with her fans and revealed she is now back home and ‘on the mend.’

Rachael posted a video to Instagram of herself smiling from her hospital bed and she wrote: ‘Am completely overwhelmed at the amount of kindness that just flowed from so many people on my last post.’

She continued: ‘So I just wanted to say a huge thank you to you all – reading all your comments touched my heart.’

The actress also said thanked all the nurses and reassured fans she’s now home and recovering.

‘I’m home and on the mend. I wanted to thank the amazing nurses who among other things – helped me make silly videos in the ICU with actual filters that I am morally against,’ Rachael said.

The actress shocked fans earlier this week when she revealed she had been rushed to hospital.

‘I was admitted to emergency with acute abdominal pain just over a week ago and spent a few days in the ICU. Was then moved to the surgical ward,’ she wrote.

‘Basically it was a case of me not listening to my body and the pain (I tend to work through pain!!) and allowing myself to get quite ill.’

‘Yet again, another lesson, especially to women who tend to ignore their own care because ‘there’s no time ‘ or more important things or people to look after ..to stop and listen to what your body is trying to tell you,’ she said.

Rachael also revealed she’d spent Valentine’s Day in hospital and shared a photo of herself sitting in her hospital bed and holding a bouquet of flowers. 

Rachael is best known for her playing Jodi Fountain on Nine’s television drama series McLeod’s Daughters.
