Michael wore dramatic white makeup with large red lips while his locks were dyed bright green to match the character’s famous look.

He is then seen recreating a scene from the film where he dances manically down steps while smoking a cigarette.

Alan then appears dressed as a police officer and, speaking in an exaggerated American accent, chases Michael away.

‘Hey douchebag, what are you doing?,’ he shouts. ‘Come here you a*****e, douchebag come here! That guy ran off so fast he had smoke coming out of his a**.’

Michael was joined by comedian Jennifer Saunders on the panel show who also recreated The Joker’s look.

Sporting dramatic face paint, the actress looked unrecognisable as she pulled animated expressions for a spooky shoot.

The panel programme, which is in its third series, sees Jennifer, Michael and chat show host Alan channel famous movie scenes.

For this week’s challenge, comedian Tom Allen revealed Michael had a mishap as he struggled to wash out the green dye from his hair.

Presenter Tom, 37, told Digital Spy: ‘He and Jennifer recreated the Joker movie and bless him, they did the filming the day before. Michael being very method, said to Jennifer, ”We shouldn’t wear wigs, we should just dye our hair, it will be better”.

‘They both dyed their hair green, and then Jennifer’s washed out straight away, and Michael’s didn’t. He turned up looking like Grotbags. Don’t tell him I said that. It made me laugh, and he did laugh about it.

‘He’s just so cool, when you look at some of the stuff he’s done and the people he knows, and we’re all having a laugh at his green hair, it’s great. He’s just such a nice guy, I guess that’s why he’s carried on working.’

There’s Something About Movies is on Wednesdays at 9pm on Sky One and NOW TV.
