Miley Cyrus announces release of seventh studio album Plastic Hearts

She revealed this week that she’s working on an album of Metallica covers.

But on Thursday, Miley Cyrus announced that her seventh studio album is called Plastic Hearts and is the result of two years of songwriting.

In an Instagram post, she shared the album will be released on November 27 and that it has evolved as her personal life changed dramatically during that same period.

New music: On Thursday, Miley Cyrus announced on Instagram that her seventh studio album Plastic Hearts will be released on November 27 and is the result of two years of songwriting

In a lengthy post alongside an image of the album cover she shared to Instagram, Cyrus, 27, wrote: ‘I began this album over 2 years ago. Thought I had it all figured out. Not just the record with its songs and sounds but my whole f***ing life.

‘But no one checks an ego like life itself. Just when I thought the body of work was finished… it was ALL erased. Including most of the musics relevance. Because EVERYTHING had changed.’

She explained: ‘Nature did what I now see as a favor and destroyed what I couldn’t let go of for myself. I lost my house in a fire but found myself in its ashes.’

Cyrus and then fiance Liam Hemsworth lost their Malibu estate in the Woolsey wildifre in November 2018.

The singer and the actor went on to tie the knot the next month but eight months later, in August 2019, Cyrus announced the couple had separated. Hemsworth filed for divorce 11 days later, citing ‘irreconcilable differences’.

In her Instagram post, the Wrecking Ball hitmaker explained that ‘most of the music that was burned up’ in the devastating fire was in the possession of her collaborators.

‘If it were a chapter in my book I guess I would call it “The Beginning” which usually when something is over we call it “The End”. But it was far from that.

‘In triumph and gratitude I present to you my 7th studio record, Plastic Hearts. To be released Nov. 27th 2020.’

The pop star belted out Metallica’s Nothing Else Matters at Glastonbury in 2019 and in the new issue of Interview magazine this week, she revealed she’s working on a whole collection of songs by the heavy metal rockers.

Cyrus didn’t say which songs will be covered or when the album might be released.

Meanwhile, the former Hannah Montana star shared that she believes she’s had an encounter with aliens.

‘I had an experience, actually,’ Miley told Interview. ‘I was driving through San Bernardino with my friend, and I got chased down by some sort of UFO.’

She added, ‘I’m pretty sure about what I saw, but I’d also bought weed wax from a guy in a van in front of a taco shop, so it could have been the weed wax.

‘But the best way to describe it is a flying snowplow.’

The Wrecking Ball hitmaker went on: ‘It had this big plow in the front of it and was glowing yellow. I did see it flying, and my friend saw it, too. There were a couple of other cars on the road and they also stopped to look, so I think what I saw was real.’

The National UFO Reporting Center, which follows claims of odd flying objects, reported that it received almost 6,000 sightings in 2019.

Miley said the experience was so shocking that it left her unable to ‘look at the sky’ for days, because she feared the extra-terrestrials might return.

She added: ‘I was shaken for, like, five days. It f***** me up. I couldn’t really look at the sky the same. I thought they might come back.’

However, she insisted she ‘didn’t feel threatened’ by the unidentified flying object.

Speaking to Rick Owens for Interview magazine, she said: ‘I didn’t feel threatened at all, actually, but I did see a being sitting in the front of the flying object.

‘It looked at me and we made eye contact, and I think that’s what really shook me, looking into the eyes of something that I couldn’t quite wrap my head around.

‘But you’re so right to say that it’s a form of narcissism to think that we’re the only things that could be in this vast universe.’
