This is the shocking moment a McDonald’s worker assaults a customer with a perspex screen during an argument.

The video is believed to have been taken at a fast food restaurant in Penge, south east London.  

Footage shows a man and a female worker arguing at one of the tills, before the member of staff hits him with an anti-coronavirus protective screen.

It is unclear how the argument started but the row soon escalates as the customer throws a handful of straws at the worker standing beside the partition

When he straws hit the workers face, she retaliates by first throwing the card machine at the customer.

He shouts ‘shut up or I’ll smash you’ at the member of staff, who is also holding something in her hand in defence.  

The video, which was posted to social media and has been viewed nearly 39k times, has outraged users.

One person said: ‘Thugs attacking staff is never ok. Plus you should be nice to whoever has a part in the food you are about to consume.’ 

However another added: ‘Good on her?! Don’t think straws count as assault but that plastic screen sure does.’    

McDonald’s and Metropolitan Police have been approached for comment.
