Music promoter Michael Coppel puts his Melbourne mansion up for sale with a whopping $33million price tag

Michael Coppel has put his stunning Melbourne mansion on the market with a hefty price tag attached.

According to a report by Domain on Thursday, the renowned Australian music promoter is selling his home in Toorak.

The asking price for the museum-style property is set between $30million and $33million.

Considered ‘one of Melbourne’s landmark homes’, the sale of the property is set to shatter price records in the area. 

The 3066-square-metre home features a sweeping staircase and columns out the front, along with a rooftop balcony.

The property also boasts a tennis court and pool, while the main bedroom comes equipped with its own gym.

And according to real estate agent Marcus Chiminello, the tennis court is a huge drawcard with prospective buyers amid the coronavirus pandemic.

‘The current owners have enjoyed 18th and 21st birthdays and weddings on that tennis court. Those types of amenities have been heightened in the current climate,’ he added. 

According to Chiminello, Hopetoun Road, which is where the property is situated, ‘is known as the premier boulevard of Toorak’.

‘Since the day it was built, this has been regarded as one of Melbourne’s landmark homes,’ Chiminello told Domain.

‘It will be one of the most significant [sales] this year, based on price and the significance of the house and the scarcity of an opportunity such as this.

‘The land, as a vacant block, is probably worth $25million to $26million.’

The Australian music power player purchased the property 25 years ago from luxury developer Peter Gibson.  

Coppel is the president and CEO of Live Nation Australasia, and is the long-time Australian promoter of Pink. 

Others stars currently on Live Nation’s roster of concerts include Harry Styles, The Wiggles, Rod Stewart, Alanis Morissette, Backstreet Boys and The Veronicas.
