‘We love you so much’: Netballer Gretel Bueta welcomes her first child – a baby boy – with her husband Niko
Queensland netballer Gretel Bueta has welcomed her first child, a baby boy, with her husband Niko.
The Australian Diamonds player announced the happy news to Instagram on Thursday.
‘Bobby Bueta, we love you so much,’ the 27-year-old captioned a sweet photo of the couple with their new baby.

Gretel was glowing as she cradled her son in a navy robe with a pink stripped pyjama shirt underneath.
The new mother tied her long blonde locks into a ponytail opted to go makeup free for the photo.
Meanwhile, the tot was wrapped in a pale blue swaddle, and Niko, cut a casual figure in a simple white T-shirt and green striped shorts.

Niko also shared a photo of the couple leaving the hospital to his own Instagram account.
‘We are officially Mum and Dad to our beautiful little man, Bobby Bueta. Feeling so blessed and bursting with love,’ he captioned the picture.
Shortly after the couple made the announcement, they were inundated with well wishes from a number of Gretel’s fellow netballers.

Meanwhile, former Giants player Kim Green commented: ‘Congrats Grets! Bobby is beautiful! I hope you are feeling well.’

Gretel chose to sit out of the 2020 Super Netball season after falling pregnant, but plans to return to the court this year.
‘I wanted a family so badly that I was OK with stepping back,’ she told the Daily Telegraph back in November.
‘I know everyone’s journey is so different back after a baby, so depending on how my body goes I’ll just take it one step at a time and not be too hard on myself,’ she added.
