Nicolas rocked a black and white floral shirt and jeans from the driver’s seat of the green convertible vehicle.

His chocolate tresses were styled in a coiffed ‘do and he sported a rugged stubble.

His co-star left his curly locks in a natural wave and looked effortlessly stylish in a tan short-sleeve shirt as they read their lines from the rural village location.

The acting duo turned their heads to the rear of the vehicle as they witnessed a stunt actor speedily approaching on a motorcycle.

A fellow stunt actor perfected a motorcycle trick in the middle of the road and was seen brandishing a firearm prop that draped over his torso.

Cameras and lighting were mounted on scaffolding to capture intimate shots from inside the vehicle and to record the approaching motorcyclists.

During filming, the actors ditched their face coverings, but camera operators were protected with face coverings and helmets at all times.

The production team clutched hand-held radio devices to communicate with the rest of the crew, and co-ordinate the action that unfolded in front of them.

Despite staying stationary in the jeep, Nicolas and Pedro showcased their expert acting skills as they were seen ducking and diving from their leather seats, creating the illusion of motion.

The film, penned by Tom Gormican and Kevin Etten, finds a downcast Nicolas yearning for a lead role in a Quentin Tarantino film while attempting to reconcile his fractured relationship with his teenage daughter.

The actor also has a back-and-fourth interaction with a haughty 1990s persona of himself, who chides him for a lacklustre list of recent credits and for letting his star status burn out.

Also bridled with surmounting debt, Nicolas’ character is pushed to appear at the birthday party of a Mexican billionaire who is a fan of his work and wants to share a script that he wrote.

After the pair spend some time together, the CIA informs Nicolas that the billionaire is in fact, a drug cartel kingpin who has kidnapped the daughter of a Mexican presidential nominee.

The US government then recruits him to gather intelligence on the kingpin.

The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent will include references to Nicolas’ past films including Leaving Las Vegas, Face-Off and Gone in 60 Seconds.
