Nicole Richie releases socially conscious debut rap album Unearthed as her alter ego Nikki Fre$h

Nicole Richie is embarking on a new career path.

The reality star, fashion designer, author, and actress dropped her socially conscious debut rap album, Unearthed, under her alter ego, Nikki Fre$h, on Friday.  

‘UNEARTHED is out NOW and its just like WAP but with crystals and broccoli. #NikkiFresh #Unearthed” she captioned an Instagram picture of herself dancing in a garden as a taste of her song We Are A Garden could be heard playing.

The former Simple Life star, 38, revealed ‘THE WAIT IS OVER’, and shared a snippet of her song Drip Drip when she teased the album’s release and artwork on Wednesday. 

Unearthed features 13 tracks including Parent Trap, Lil Gems, U.G.L.Y. and Bee’s Tea, along with short voicemails in between them.  

‘The tea is that they’re going to f***ing die. We can’t be here without them. They play a very big role in apples, avocados, almonds, even coffee,’ she explained about the meaning of Bee’s Tea during an interview with The Zoe Report.

Some of the topics of her rhymes include recycling, conservation and global warming. 

Richie also stars as Nikki Fre$h on the comedic Quibi show of the same name that sees her embarking on her new career path, all while using a healthy dose of comedy.

Back on June 29, The California native went into promo mode to push both the Nikki Fre$h album and show.

‘The world wants more of my voice, my garden, and my body. And I’m gonna give it to them. #NikkiFresh #Season2  coming soon to @quibi,’ she captioned a photo of herself in full-on Nikki Fre$h garb.      

Back in 2013, Richie gave a glimpse at her then alter ego Nikki Rich during an episode of her short-lived reality series Candidly Nicole, where she talked about making gluten-free pasta and dairy-free ice cream in her songs.

She later changed her rapper name to Nikki Fre$h before taking the stage at VH1’s You Oughta Know Live Concert in 2014 with Treach from Naughty by Nature.
