Noah Centineo will play DC superhero Atom Smasher in the upcoming Shazam! spin-off, Black Adam.

And on Monday, the American heartthrob, 24, revealed the extensive preparation that has gone into bulking up for the role so far.

Speaking to Australian Nova radio personality Smallzy, Noah said he would train for hours and eat more than 6000 calories per day.

‘Last time I gained I was eating 6,500 calories a day, but this time will not be as bad,’ Noah said as production is due to begin in the coming weeks.

Noah, who become a breakout Netflix star for his role in the rom-com hit All the Boys I’ve Loved Before, was also at the gym for ‘two hour every day’ doing ‘high-intensity training and dying’. 

The actor at one point was eating a very large breakfast each day, which included at least 12 eggs, steak, potatoes, and two bowls of oatmeal.

In March 2020, Noah shared that he had already gained ’30 pounds of lean muscle tissue’ for the role.

He shared a video from the gym leg pressing 810 pounds (367kg), and added by the end of his initial training he was able to leg press 1,008 pounds (457kg).

‘My leg press was 1,008 pounds for 3 sets of 10 repping My squat was 405 pounds (184kg) for 10 reps Bench: 225 pounds (102kg) for 10reps,’ he boasted, thanking his trainer for pushing him to reach his personal bests.

The filming was put on hold amid the coronavirus pandemic, but now appears back on track.

After years of rumours, Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson confirmed he would bring antihero Black Adam to life on the big screen via a Tweet in 2014. 

The character was originally meant to appear in DC’s 2019 Shazam! film.

Filming on Black Adam is officially scheduled to begin in the next few months in Atlanta, Georgia.
