Olivia Holt joins Sara Drew and Harley Quinn at LA screening of series Cruel Summer

Olivia Holt, Sarah Drew, and the entire cast of Freeform’s highly-anticipated series Cruel Summer attended the premiere of their show at the Beverly Hilton this week. 

Just days ahead of the psychological thriller’s two-hour TV debut on Tuesday, the star-studded ensemble gathered together for a special screening of the twisty teen mystery, which spans three summers in the early 1990s.

While the actors were able to walk down the red carpet in a number of elegant looks, they primarily spent the night in their respective hotel rooms.

Regardless, Holt, 23, who plays Kate Wallis, a popular teenager that goes missing, brought the glamour in a skintight black minidress and matching high heels.

Her costar, Harley Quinn Smith, rocked an eye-catching blue dress with two thigh-high slits on the sides and a pair of yellow patterned stilettos. 

The actress, 21, also commanded attention with a bold aqua eyeshadow, red nails and a sequined handbag.

Drew, best known Dr. April Kepner in the ABC medical drama series Grey’s Anatomy for nine seasons, sported a white blouse, short black skirt and maroon shoes. 

Chiara Aurelia, who portrays one of Holt’s classmates that undergoes a dramatic transformation from her days as a nerd, looked timeless in a black blazer, cropped pants and earrings from Chanel. 

The cast documented the socially distant premiere, which had them watching the show from their hotel room’s balcony.

Stylish: Allius Barnes, known for known for his roles as Evan in PEN15 and Remy in the mini-series Unbelievable, wore a black best, slacks and a white t-shirt

‘Such a cool idea for a covid safe premiere!!!’ attendee Alexxis Lemire gushed on her Instagram Story. 

Drew marked the occasion by sharing a snap of herself sitting down on a sparkly inflatable chair with a beaming smile, telling fans she was ‘having an absolute blast.’ 

She also showed off some of the goodies in her room, including a lava lap, scrap board and pillows with the show’s name on them.

‘We are here at the Cruel Summer premiere and this is so awesome! This hotel room is outfitted in fully ’90s gear in every possible way. And, I’m obsessed,’ she gushed. 

Before signing off, she panned to a stack of teen magazines from the decade and a  Boomerang video of her playing Jenga with her husband Peter Lanfer. 

Like the Everwood star, Holt promoted her latest project on social media by posing for a few snaps in her room.

Froy Gutierrez Barrett Carnahan, Blake Lee, Allius Barnes, Michael Landes and Brooklyn Sudano also star in the series, executive produced by Jessica Biel. 

The eight-episode teen drama follows two women: Kate Wallis (Holt), who goes missing, and Jeanette Turner (Aurelia), who is accused of being connected to her disappearance. 

Speaking of landing her starring role, Holt told the New York Post: ‘I’m obsessed with psychological thrillers and I’ve never been able to be part of one yet in my career. So this is the first time, and I’ve had so much fun doing it.’
