Olympic swimmer Scott Miller is arrested at his Sydney home over an alleged ice syndicate after ‘$2million of meth was found hidden in candles’

Olympic swimmer Scott Miller has been arrested at his Sydney home over an alleged large scale ice syndicate involving $2million of ice concealed in candles.

Miller, 45, was one of two men arrested by NSW Police about 6am on Tuesday morning, with police storming his waterfront Rozelle unit in the city’s inner west.

A 47-year-old alleged associate was also arrested at Balmain. A business address in Bankstown was also raided.

Both men were taken to Newtown Police Station in the city’s inner west. Charges are yet to be laid.  

The Nine Network reported that police will allege Miller used a company ‘Miller’s Transport’ to transport drugs around Australia. 

Miller is Australian swimming royalty having won silver and bronze medals at the 1996 Atlanta Olympics in the butterfly and the 4 x 100m medley relay. 

He is the ex-husband of the late socialite Charlotte Dawson, who died of suicide in 2014.  

Miller has had a troubled recent history. In an interview with 60 Minutes that year, the athlete admitted he was battling a drug addiction.

Five years ago he worked as a drug awareness and prevention speaker with the Church of Scientology’s Narconon program, according to his LinkedIn profile.    

The role involved him ‘showing people addicted to drugs or alcohol that there is another way to live life’ and conducting drug interventions. 

More recently, he was a business development manager for a company called reinteractive.   

Police will hold a press conference later this morning.
