Padma Lakshmi puts on a stylish display in a long down jacket as she walks her dog Divina in NYC

Top Chef host Padma Lakshmi looked every inch the doting dog mom as she walked her pup Divina, who she rescued in November, in Manhattan. 

As the 50-year-old Emmy-nominated star strolled through her New York City neighborhood, she put on a stylish display in a pair of dark-wash jeans.

She completed her look with a long puffer coat with a fur hood, a purple v-neck and a white face mask amid the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.  

For her outing, the Indian-born former Vogue model kept her dark tresses styled in loose waves and wore aviator glasses. 

In addition to sweetly cradling her pooch for several blocks, she made sure her furry friend stayed warm in a windproof olive green jacket. 

At one point during her stroll, she knelt down next to little Divina to adjust the canine’s outfit.  

Lakshmi introduced the ‘third female’ in her ‘all-female household’ to her one million Instagram followers on November 27. 

‘Okay so I’ve never been much of an animal person… In fact I’ve never even had a pet! In my whole damn life,’ she explained in the caption, going on to reveal that her ten-year-old daughter, Krishna, had ‘begged for a dog since she was a toddler. ‘ 

She ended up adopting her pup from the New York City-based shelter, Animal Haven.   

The Emmy nominee, who shares daughter Krishna with venture capitalist Adam Dell, recently revealed that while she’s lenient about some points as a mom, when it comes to food, she puts her foot down.

‘There are a lot of things I’m not strict about, like bedtime, but I’ve always been pretty strict about what she eats,’ Padma said in Parents‘ October issue, which she covers.

She added: ‘I believe you set a child’s eating patterns by the time they’re four or five, and the best way to get a child to eat healthily is to eat well yourself.’ 

Lakshmi went on to explain that she and her daughter do their best ‘to keep our diet 50 percent fruits and vegetables, and Krishna knows that I’ll look over her plate’ before they chow down.
