Peter Brant Jr. paid memorial to his late brother Harry on Thursday.
‘Today we lay to rest, and honor the life of my brother, a true angel of light, an extraordinarily unique soul unlike any who have come before,’ Peter, 27, said in an Instagram alongside a shot of Harry taken Sunday with model Gaia Matisse, prior to the accidental drug overdose that killed him at 24.
In the photo, Harry and Matisse relaxed in maroon velvet outfits atop a large floral rug. Peter said of the image, ‘This photo taken on his last day, shows the eternal beauty he will forever hold.’

The model opened up about his mourning for his brother and the close relationship they shared.
‘It is impossible to express the devastation I feel for the loss of one with whom I shared not only a lifetime of beautiful memories, but with one who cared so deeply for my own happiness, was so devoted to my personal comfort,’ Peter wrote. ‘It is the loss not only of a brother, but of a best friend, my other half.
He concluded, saying, My heart shatters to think we will never see that dear sweet face again.’

The son of model Stephanie Seymour and industrialist Peter M. Brant stated Monday, ‘It is with enormous sorrow that we share with you the news that our beloved son, Harry Brant, lost his battle with addiction and died due to an accidental overdose of prescription medication,’ adding, ‘our hearts are shattered.’
A family friend told People Tuesday that Harry’s father had been ‘trying to get him to go to rehab again’ amid worry and frustration about his son’s drug habit.
‘It’s hard, anyone who knows addiction knows this,’ the source said. ‘We all knew he had this problem.’

The source said that Harry and older brother Peter ‘were inseparable’ siblings, as ‘they complemented each other, they were always there for each other, and of course they fought like siblings do.’
Harry ‘had everything going on for him’ and ‘was way beyond his years,’ the source noted.
In a statement released following Brant’s death, his family opened up about Harry’s passion for writing, style and fashion, calling him ‘a trailblazer of beauty and cosmetic products for men’ in ‘collaborating with a major brand on a unisex cosmetic line’ in his MAC cosmetics collaboration with brother Peter.

‘He was also a dedicated writer for Interview Magazine and his dream was to be a much bigger part of its creative department. He achieved a lot in his 24 years, but we will never get the chance to see how much more Harry could have done.’
In his modeling career, Harry had walked for the Balmain fashion house and was seen on the pages of Italian Vogue.
The family noted that ‘Harry was not just our son, he was also a wonderful brother, loving grandson, favorite uncle and a caring friend.
‘He was a creative, loving and powerful soul that brought light into so many people’s hearts. He was truly a beautiful person inside and out.’
The family wrapped up in saying, ‘We will forever be saddened that Harry’s life was cut short by this devastating disease. We ask that you please allow our family privacy as we attempt to cope with the loss of our beautiful, beautiful boy.’
