Police launch hunt for knifeman after teenager is left fighting for his life in north London stabbing

A teenager is fighting for his life after being stabbed in north London.

Armed police joined paramedics at the scene of the attack, on West Green Road, Tottenham, at the junction with Willow Walk just after 9pm on Tuesday.

The wounded youngster was treated at the side of the side of the road by air ambulance crews before being rushed to hospital, where his condition is described as life-threatening.

There have been no arrests.

Witnesses said a police air support helicopter was scrambled to hunt for the knifeman, who made off from the scene.

Police dogs have also been searching the area to try and find the attacker or the weapon.  

A large crime scene has been put in place as enquiries continue into the assault, which onlookers described as ‘brutal’.  

Met Police officer in Haringey tweeted: ‘Police called at 21.10hrs to West Green Road, junction with Willow Walk N15, following reports of a stabbing.

‘Officers attended with LAS and found a male, aged in his teens, suffering from stab injuries.

‘CPR was administered at the scene before the victim was taken to hospital.

‘His condition is being treated as life-threatening. At this early stage there have been no arrests.’
