Police launch urgent search for two missing 16-year-old girls who are believed to have travelled from their home in Leeds to Blackpool

  • Megan is described as white, around 5ft 5in and has blonde hair with highlights
  • Marissa is white, 5ft 3in tall, of very slim build and has long mousey brown hair 

Police have launched an urgent search for two teenage girls who disappeared in Blackpool yesterday.

Megan Beard and Marissa Preston, both aged 16, have both been reported missing to Lancashire Constabulary.

They are from the Yorkshire area and are believed to have travelled to the seaside resort by train from Leeds.

Megan is described as white, around 5ft 5in tall and of slim build. She has blonde hair with highlights and was last seen wearing a pale blue beany hat, a black leather jacket with a pale blue sweat shirt, black flares and white trainers. She was also carrying a rucksack.

Marissa – who also goes by the name ‘Missy’ – is white, 5ft 3in tall, and of very slim build. She has long mousey brown hair tied up and was last seen wearing blue jeans a light grey jumper and a dark blue denim jacket.

Sgt Dan Whitaker, of Blackpool Police, said: ‘We are keen to find Megan and Marissa as soon as possible.

‘We know both girls are in the Blackpool area and could be staying at an address in the resort.

‘If you have any information please come forward and contact police as soon as possible.’
