Radio hosts Tommy Little and Dave ‘Hughesy’ Hughes confess their female co-hosts ‘carry the show’

Tommy Little and Dave ‘Hughesy’ Hughes have admitted their female co-hosts do all the work on their respective radio shows.

Speaking at industry event Carat’s Couch-ella last week, the comedians both confessed they get to act like ‘d**kheads on the air’.

Tommy, 36, co-hosts Hit FM’s drivetime show, Carrie & Tommy, with Carrie Bickmore.

Meanwhile, Hughesy, 50, appears on Hit FM’s breakfast show, The Morning Crew with Hughesy, Ed and Erin, alongside Ed Kavalee and Erin Molan.

Before Erin, 37, joined the show, Hughesy worked opposite Kate Langbroek, who he’s maintained a close friendship with.

‘I think we’re both lucky that we just get to work with funny, talented women that we literally just hold up and go, “Take us on a ride,”‘ Tommy confessed, as reported by Radio Today on Wednesday. 

He added: ‘They’re so good at what they do, that they’ll carry the show and we’ll just get to be d**kheads on the air.’ 

Meanwhile, Hughesy, who’s currently broadcasting from New Zealand with his co-hosts, said listeners who travelled with them all only wanted to meet Erin.

In an interview with MediaWeek in February, Erin praised her colleagues and said they had instant chemistry. 

‘I was nervous because I loved the guys, I knew they were great guys, but that doesn’t guarantee that you’re going to have great chemistry…’ she confessed. 

‘I was nervous those first few days, but literally after 10 minutes on the first day, I knew that this would work, and that was phenomenal.

‘I love their personalities. Hughesy is so, so funny, but he’s so driven and he’s so smart, and Ed’s exactly the same.’
