She’s impressed with her weight loss in recent weeks and is believed to have lost an incredible 18kg through diet and exercise.

And on Tuesday, Australian actress Rebel Wilson showed off her slimmed-down frame as she enjoyed a day out at the zoo with her personal trainer, Jono Castano Acero.

The 40-year-old Pitch Perfect star wore activewear on the outing at The Sydney Zoo in Blacktown.

Jono shared a picture of himself and Rebel with an adorable furry friend at the zoo, a red panda.

‘Happy Tuesday,’ the post was captioned.

Rebel, who is taking a break from her own social media channels, looked casual in a pair of black leggings and a long sleeve top and sunglasses.

Last week it was claimed that part of Rebel’s remarkable transformation is down to following the Mayr Method diet plan.

A source told PEOPLE magazine that Rebel got ‘amazing results’ by changing her eating habits while staying at the luxe Austrian health and wellness retreat Vivamayr last year, and has continued on with the plan.

‘It’s an approach that eliminates food intolerances, reduces sugar, encourages eating whole foods slowly, boosts the immune system and reduces inflammation,’ a source close to Rebel told the publication.

‘She exercises with a personal trainer up to six times a week, goes on walks and is trying to up her protein intake nutritionally.’

They added: ‘I know she’s also been working on conquering her emotional eating patterns of behavior.’

The Vivamayr clinic, which Rebel visited last year, has reportedly hosted guests including the likes of Sarah Ferguson.

Last year Rebel revealed she lost 6.6kg at the retreat by enjoying aerial yoga, vitamin drips, massages, algae wraps and facials at the health resort.

It’s renowned for its strict – but incredibly effective – ‘cure’ that purges the body of toxins, leaving your body more toned, your stomach flatter and skin brighter in a matter of days.

The diet focuses on healthy digestion and gut health.

The program has been developed by Dr Harald Stossier from a popular Austrian medical spa ‘cure’, devised originally by Dr Franz Mayr, the first person to make a direct link between digestive health and overall health and attractiveness.

According to an extract from The Vivamayr Diet previously shared with Daily Mail, the plan promises a flatter tummy and younger skin in just 14 days – with no faddy fitness routines and no intensive crash dieting.

Dieters are told to chew their food more because the brain has the time it needs to send signals to the stomach, to be aware of their digestive system’s rhythms – so eat heavier during the day when you can digest food more, and to drink two to three litres of filtered water a day, between meals.

What is the Vivamayr Diet?

– It’s all about digestion and gut health. Focus on chewing your food more

– Be aware of your digestive system’s rhythms

– Drink two to three litres of filtered water a day, strictly between meals

– A warm glass of water should be consumed in the morning

– Dieters eat the likes of fresh food and vegetables, good-quality proteins and fats and opt for wholemeal versions of carbs

– A meal plan can include fruit muesli with nuts for breakfast, vegetable salad and chicken for lunch, and soft polenta with steamed vegetables and herbs for dinner

A warm glass of water should be consumed in the morning. Dieters are told to not drink water while eating to help digestion.

People following the plan eat fresh food and vegetables, good-quality proteins and fats and opt for wholemeal versions of carbs.

‘There is no mystery to losing weight; cut down on carbohydrates – and the amount you eat overall – and increase your intake of unsaturated fatty acids,’ Dr Stossier said.

A meal plan can include fruit muesli with nuts for breakfast, vegetable salad and chicken for lunch, and soft polenta with steamed vegetables and herbs for dinner.

Earlier this month, Dietitian and exercise physiologist Kate Save told Daily Mail Australia that she believes Rebel has lost up to 18kg (40lbs or 2.8 stone).

Last month, the Hollywood star vowed to slim down to 75kg (165lbs or 11.8 stone).

‘Even if you have to crawl towards your goals, keep going – it would be worth it,’ Rebel wrote on Instagram.

‘Try and give a little bit of effort each day. I know some days are frustrating as hell, you feel like giving up, you get annoyed at the lack of progress [but] good things are coming your way.’

Rebel’s personal trainer, Jono Castano Acero, recently shared the star’s workout routine with E! Australia.

During a typical week, she does a combination of HIIT workouts, mobility, weights and resistance, and has just one day per week of rest.

In March, Jono told Daily Mail Australia his top tips to help people lose weight.

The Sydney-based gym buff said that people should be working out for at least 45 minutes a day to shed the kilos.
