Rochelle Humes forced to be ‘bad cop’ as she BANS daughter Alaia, 8, from using TikTok

Rochelle Humes has told how she was forced to label herself as the ‘bad cop’ after overruling husband Marvin and refusing to allow their daughter Alaia-Mai, eight, to use TikTok.

In a new interview, the TV presenter, 32, told how she is ‘definitely tougher’ on the children than her JLS star husband, 36, is.

Rochelle, who also shares Valentina, four and eight-month-old Blake with Marvin, added that their two girls have dad wrapped around their finger and get what they want simply by flashing him a innocent look.

But the star put her foot down when it came to social media and went above her husband who had already given the green light for Alai to have a TikTok account.

Opening up about the couple’s parenting, she told the Sweat, Snot and Tears podcast: ‘Alaia asked me for a Tik Tok account, and she’s eight and I’m like, “No”. She only wanted it because her cousin has it and it was like, “oh, you know they’re doing these dances”  and I’m like “you can do the dances, but you don’t need a Tik Tok”.’

The former Saturdays singer went on to discuss how the girls often try to play her and Marvin off each other, resulting in Rochelle having to be the sterner parent.

She continued: ‘That’s the hardest for parents. I’m definitely tougher on the girls than he is. They literally have to just have to say “Daddy” and give him one look and they’ve already got what they wanted.

‘Then it’s like ‘Me and Daddy haven’t even caught up on this yet. I need to talk to Daddy about it. And then it’s obvious that Mummy said no but Daddy said I could. That’s where the bad cop comes in.’

And despite having previously shared clips of her dancing with Alaia on her own Instagram, Rochelle insisted that she had no plans to turn her girls into social media stars and simply wanted them to ‘live their best lives.’

She added that she and her The Hit List co-star partner have ‘worked hard’ to live in a ‘nice way’ but they don’t want their children  to think that ‘that is life’, they must still have ‘goals’ in life.
