Rod Stewart could not stop smiling as he finally got to embrace his good pal Ronnie Wood on Monday night after lockdown restrictions eased. 

Hugs had been a no-go throughout the pandemic, with friends and family members living in different households having to miss out on physical contact for a year. 

And the two rockers wasted no time in wrapping their arms around each other while at The Arts Club in London with their glamorous wives Penny, 50, and Sally, 43.

Rod, 76, radiated happiness as he beamed a grin while hugging Ronnie, 73, at the same time as Penny was embracing the Rolling Stone’s stylish wife.

The Maggie May crooner cut a dapper figure for the long-awaited big night out, donning a white shirt and black blazer styled with statement loafers.

Penny also ensured to pull out all the stops as she put on a leggy display in a stunning floral dress and peep-toe heels.

While Ronnie certainly proved he got the dress code memo as he rocked a white shirt and black jacket like his friend.

His wife Sally also looked fantastic in a black dress and vibrant green jacket which she paired with a silver heart necklace.  

Monday marked a momentous day for Brits, as inside socialising, hugging, certain flights and much more were permitted again after months of strict rules.

This next stage of the post-lockdown roadmap means up to six people or two different households now allowed to meet indoors. 

Pubs and restaurants can now welcome customers back indoors, visits to the homes of friends and family can resume and the foreign holiday ban has ended.

Cinemas, hotels and B&Bs have also reopened, although anyone visiting a pub must remain seated while eating or drinking – and nightclubs remain closed for now.

Several other stars were also seen stepping out for a big night on the tiles on Monday, with Love Island’s Maura Higgins and Lucie Donlan leading the reality stars.

The bombshells opted for matching black outfits as they left their hotel in London’s Mayfair, ready to celebrate the launch of Maura’s new shoe collection she designed in collaboration with EGO footwear. 

The Irish beauty wore a black suit with a double breasted jacket which had a plunging neck line showcasing her cleavage.

While surfer babe Lucie, 23, opted for a similar look, wearing an all-black jumpsuit which had large shoulder pads and a low neckline. 

Gabby Allen also soaked up some socialising during the night as she showcased her phenomenal figure in a figure-hugging mini skirt and floral shirt. 

She seemed to be having a rowdy time at dinner with her pals as she shared a clip to Instagram Stories showing the group whipping their napkins around and dancing.

Also pictured hitting the town was former Strictly contestant Emma Weymouth, who sizzled in a mini dress and polka-dot tights at an art event.

Emma attended a private view of artist Piotr Krzymowski’s new exhibition Major Incident, which features works made entirely of COVID-19 waste.

The stunner ensured to work all her angles as she posed up a storm during the evening, highlighting her toned frame in her stylish ensemble. 

Emma ensured all eyes would be on her embroidered dress as she kept accessories to a minimum, only draping a black jacket over her shoulders for some snaps.

Ronnie and Sally Wood’s night out with Rod and Penny comes after Sally candidly detailed her husband’s secret cancer battle, saying the couple ‘tried to keep as positive as possible’. 

The actress also praised the Rolling Stones guitarist in a new interview with Hello! magazine, saying he has ‘incredible strength and determination’.

It was revealed last month that Ronnie, had been given the all-clear after being diagnosed with small cell cancer in lockdown. He also battled lung cancer in 2017. 

Speaking with Hello!, Sally said: ‘We tried to keep as positive as possible and put our trust in the doctors and followed their instructions and advice.

‘We can’t thank the doctors enough for everything they did and all the support they gave us.’

She added: ‘You have to be as positive as you can and believe that everything will be OK. Ronnie’s an amazing person with incredible strength and determination.’ 

Sally and Ronnie married in 2012 and since welcomed twin girls in 2016 – Gracie Jane and Alice Rose, now  four.

Ronnie revealed he secretly battled cancer for the second time during lockdown last month after being diagnosed with small cell cancer.

Announcing the news, the star explained that he’s since ‘come through with the all-clear’.

It is the second time Ronnie has beaten cancer after previously being diagnosed with lung cancer in 2017, resulting in part of his lung being removed during a five-hour operation.
