The post comes after it was confirmed that U.S series RuPaul’s Drag Race is coming to Australia and New Zealand as an eight-part Stan Original series.

RuPaul’s Drag Race Down Under will begin production this week, with superstar RuPaul serving as host alongside Drag Race icon Michelle Visage.

‘I cannot wait for everyone to see that Down Under queens have some of the biggest charisma, uniqueness, nerve and talents in the world,’ said RuPaul.

‘Thank you to Stan and TVNZ for providing a platform for these outrageous drag artists to share their heart, soul and humour,’ he added.

In a format similar to the U.S. version, the Stan Original series will see Australian and New Zealand queens compete for the title of Australasia’s next drag superstar.

Along the way they’ll be judged by a glittering array of celebrity guests, who will throw shade and provide feedback to the queens.

Stan will announce the contestants, and the third celebrity judge, at a later date.

The British and American versions of RuPaul’s Drag Race are available to stream on Stan in Australia.

RuPaul’s Drag Race Down Under will premiere on Stan later this year.
