Sacha Baron Cohen has night of success at SAG Awards as he is joined by wife Isla Fisher

Sacha Baron Cohen appeared to be in great spirits as he was joined by wife Isla Fisher following The Trial of the Chicago 7’s ensemble victory at the SAG Awards.

The actor, 49, and his co-stars picked up the award for Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture on Sunday.

He looked typically dapper in a white suit jacket and added a black  T-shirt underneath, while Isla, 45, also opted for a monochrome look and dazzled in a black dress.

Isla ensured all eyes were on her, even as a tiny rectangle on a Zoom grid, as she oozed glamour in the low-cut strapless number.

Her auburn locks cascaded over her shoulders in loose curls and she added some statement earrings for an added touch of elegance.

Isla married Sacha in 2010 after they met at a party in Sydney back in 2002, and they now share three young children together.

Sacha enjoyed a night of success at the awards, after being nominated for three, including Male Actor in a Supporting Role in a Motion Picture, for his portrayal of Abbie Hoffman.

The award was ultimately taken home by Daniel Kaluuya for his role in Judas and the Black Messiah.

The cast of Chicago 7 were also nominated for Stunt Ensemble in a Motion Picture, but this was won by Wonder Woman 1987.

Speaking to AP after the win, Sacha’s castmate Michael Keaton took a humble approach, giving credit to the other actors involved.

He took a humble approach and spoke highly of Sacha, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Frank Langella, Eddie Redmayne, Jeremy Strong, Yahya Abdul-Mateen, John Carroll Lynch, Mark Rylance and Alex Sharp.

Keaton, 69, was a part of the winning cast for the third time, as he also captured the collective honors for his contributions to Birdman in 2014 and 2015’s Spotlight.

‘Frankly, it’s an embarrassment to me,’ said Keaton, who played Ramsey Clark in movie. ‘These guys did all the heavy lifting. I showed up for a couple days. I’m getting credit for not much – but I’ll take it.’

Keaton was twice previously nominated for other SAG honors: Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Leading Role in a Motion Picture for Birdman, and Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Miniseries or Television Movie in 2007 for The Company.

The victory was accepted by the film’s Frank Langella (who portrayed Judge Julius Hoffman in the movie), emphasizing the ‘profound injustice’ revealed in the film from vaunted writer/director Aaron Sorkin.

The film detailed the trial of a group of anti-Vietnam war protesters dubbed the Chicago Seven, accused of starting riots at the 1968 Democratic National Convention.

‘”God give us leaders,” said the Reverend Martin Luther King before he was shot down in cold blood on this very date in 1968,’ Langella said. ‘The trial of the Chicago Seven began 18 months later, ruled by a corrupt judge – me.’

Langella continued: ‘Aaron Sorkin was determined to tell their story, and his loving and respectful direction transformed a group of disparate actors into an ensemble. Reverend King was right, we need leaders to guide us toward hating each other less.

‘We owe a debt of thanks to the voices of the Chicago Seven, and most especially, Aaron Sorkin, our leader whose voice is the soul of this movie. Thank you SAG-AFTRA.’

The motion picture is nominated for six Academy Awards including Best Motion Picture of the Year, Best Performance by an Actor in a Supporting Role for Sacha and Best Original Screenplay for Aaron Sorkin.
