Sam Ball hits back at Married At First Sight as he shares clip of Elizabeth Sobinoff fat-shaming HIM

Sam Ball has continued his onslaught of attacks on Married At First Sight after his fat shaming comments about ‘ex-wife’ Elizabeth Sobinoff were revisited on the Grand Reunion special, which aired in Australia on Monday night.

On Tuesday, the 28-year-old shared a video clip to Instagram, which showed Lizzie, 29, making comments about his weight – apparently before he commented on hers.

The video, which appears to be a long-lost Married At First Sight teaser clip, shows Lizzie spotting Sam ahead of their wedding vows on season six, which aired in 2019.

Spotting Sam, who was wearing a blue suit, in the distance, she said: ‘Does he look porky? He looks tubby’.

Someone off camera said: ‘That’s probably the marriage celebrant’?

Lizzie snapped back: ‘No, I’m looking at the guy with the back to me! I put all my trust into those experts, so they better have looked after me’.

Sam added a lengthy caption alongside the video saying that because the show was airing in Australia and overseas, he wanted to ‘set the record straight’.

He wrote: ‘I have copped it online… for over two years while I’ve been gagged, not able to speak on this while others pushed to make me out to be the horrible man I was, without showing what really went on and the actual truth.

‘I wasn’t allowed to talk to media, nothing! This is a two way street, but nobody seemed to care or even hear other parts of the story, just how bad I was and believe all the BS.

‘You don’t have to like me, that is okay, but at least be smart enough to think and listen and put all the facts together before constantly sending me death threats, abuse and just random s**t because some are so invested in a show’ he added.

After Monday’s episode, Sam also re-shared a video he had posted a week earlier, in which he insisted the show is ‘all scripted’ and producers had told him what to say, and how to act.

‘I thought Lizzie was a lovely girl, I was trying to give her positive compliments until they told me to say what was said, so that’s what happened,’ he added of the ‘fat-shaming’ incident.

‘Lizzie got out of the f**king limo and says, “Oh, my God, look how chunky tubby is.” She fat-shamed me and I said she’s bigger than the girl I usually dated, meaning height and stuff like that.’

Sam went on to suggest that producers ‘fat-shamed’ Elizabeth in front of him.

‘I didn’t want to fat-shame her at all, that’s not what my intentions were. They were the ones who said, “Sam, she’s a big girl mate, what are you doing?!” That’s messed up, they shouldn’t do it, it’s all bulls**t,’ he said.

The fitness enthusiast enraged viewers when he fat shamed Elizabeth, who has since lost 10 kilos, on their wedding day during season six.

‘I’ve never really dated girls as big as Elizabeth to be honest. It’s obviously a topic that’s troubled her in the past,’ he said.

Sam also sparked outrage after revealing his plans to help Elizabeth lose weight after their televised nuptials.

‘She’s got a beautiful face… Maybe I’ll get her running in the mornings… but she’ll be right. We’ll get her going,’ he said.

On Monday night’s episode, Lizzie said she still lived with hurt from those comments, and would never forgive Sam for making them.

‘His comments, the weight comments, have still trickled over. I never escaped that, and I don’t think I ever will be able to escape that,’ she said.

‘Every day, every day walking down the street – not a day goes by my weight is not questioned thanks to this person.’

She added: ‘I will never forgive that person. For not apologising, and acting like, oh, it’s not a big deal. It is. Every day, I can never escape that – being the former fat girl.’
