Saturday Night Takeaway fans were left outraged following the much-anticipated finale of Men In Brown, as they claimed it poked fun at the coronavirus pandemic.
Taking to Twitter viewers claimed the show was being ‘insensitive’ as possessed celebrities in the sketch vowed to ‘infect the human scum.’
While some were quick to claim that the line was ‘inappropriate’ given the current nationwide lockdown, others defended the show by pointing out that the segment would have been filmed months in advance.

In the final episode of the Men In Brown series, Ant and Dec finally discovered the identity of The Host, the leader of alien race The Squits.
The Mysterious character was unmasked as Bake Off star Paul Hollywood, and he immediately put his plan in motion of possess some of the UK’s biggest stars.
After being possessed by the aliens, the humans said: ‘Infect the human scum,’ until Ant and Dec managed to thwart the evil plot.

The use of the word infect didn’t sit well with many fans, who rushed to Twitter to claim the statement was inappropriate, given the UK’s current lockdown amid the coronavirus pandemic.
One tweeted: ‘Rather an unfortunate subject matter on #MenInBrown. Infect the humans?’ while another added: ‘Infect the human scum, is that appropriate?’
A third posted: ‘Disappointed that #SaturdayNightTakeaway has just said a few times in it ”infect the human scum” if I worked there and if that was me I would of pulled that from the show in the current pandemic crisis!’
A viewer also posted: ‘Infect human scum? Pretty topical,’ with another adding: ”infect the humans” sponsored by #COVID19′
Another somewhat defended the show by stating: ‘I know how long ago this was filmed but dammnnn they keep saying that infect line aha hope people can take it light heartedly!’

Earlier this month the coronavirus was classed as a worldwide pandemic, and earlier this the government announced that the country would be placed in lockdown for at least three weeks.
This weekend’s Saturday Night Takeaway was hosted by Ant and Dec from their living room, after filming for the live show was halted.
The duo introduced a collection of Best Bits from the show’s history, after presenting last week’s show without a studio audience.
