Sheridan Smith recreates her iconic American Boy rap with James Corden from Gavin & Stacey

Sheridan Smith recreated her memorable American Boy rap scene from Gavin & Stacey this week.

The actress, 39, was joined by a TV camera assistant named Honor Cantrell for the clip as she performed a rendition of the song by Kanye West and Estelle.

Honor shared the video on her TikTok profile as she and Sheridan strutted down a hallway backstage and performed the noughties favourite.

In the original Gavin & Stacey scene, Sheridan starred opposite James Corden, who played Smithy, while she played his younger sister Rudi.

The pair effortlessly rapped the hit in a car park while on the phone to Gavin, played by Matthew Horne.

Sheridan looked sensational in the new clip, wearing a black blazer and matching trousers which she wore with a white top.

Letting her blonde locks fall loose down her shoulders, the star completed her look with a gold necklace.  

TikTok users were quick to praise the video, with one saying: ‘OMG why isn’t this viral. Best Gav and Stacey scene.’

Sheridan welcomed her first child, Billy, in May this year with her fiancé Jamie Horn. 

The TV star admitted earlier this month that she would ‘love to have another baby’ with her insurance broker beau, 30.

The actress revealed that she never expected to have children, but giving birth to her son, Billy, transformed her perspective. 

Sheridan said on the Keep Calm and Kerry On podcast to host Kerry Ellis: ‘I’d love to have another baby – we’ve already ­spoken about it. It’s hard when you start planning work, but it would be so nice.’

The couple revealed the name of their newborn child in July, and according to Sheridan, Jamie wants Billy to be an Arsenal football player, but they will ultimately support him whatever he chooses to be in the future.

She added: ‘I never saw children on the cards for me, but it puts ­everything into perspective. Jamie’s dead-set on Billy being an Arsenal player. He’s like, “If we can, get him into an academy at three” and I’m like “No”.  

‘But when Jamie’s out, I put music on and shimmy at him. Whatever Billy does, we’ll support him. I’m ­learning as I go along.’

The Royle Family actress is currently shooting a TV version of Jack And The Beanstalk alongside David Walliams, while her fiancé is there to look after their five-month-old baby.

The couple met after they both swiped right on Tinder, and they worked together during lockdown to film the socially-distanced show, Isolation Stories.
