Simon Cowell’s extensive use of Botox ‘has left him with a permanently sad facial expression’

Simon Cowell’s extensive use of Botox and fillers has left him with a permanently sad facial expression, surgery experts have claimed in a new show.

The music mogul, 61, who previously joked about ‘using too much Botox’, is said to have suffered some ‘volume loss in his forehead’, which has caused his appearance to change.

His years of cosmetic work will be examined on Channel 5’s Celebrities: What’s Happened to Your Face? on Thursday.

According to The Mirror, Dr Sarah Tonks from The Lovely Clinic says on the show: ‘Now it looks like an attempt has been made to soften the wrinkles and lines around his eyes. The two things together here have given this really sad appearance.

‘He’s got some volume loss in his forehead on both sides which is not helping his brow position because the bigger your volume loss in your forehead, the lower your brows will be. At 46 there’s not a line on his forehead. Not one line.

‘He’s either had a very stress-free life or there’s some Botox in there. Maybe he’s had filler in the jawline, maybe he’s had his face lifted at this point. After keeping up the Botox jabs, by 2012 his eyebrows have started drooping.’

Leading surgeon Dr Alex Karidis claims the X Factor star began to age naturally in his mid-thirties, before suspecting he ‘overdid’ his treatments to combat ‘natural sagging in his cheeks’.

MailOnline has contacted Simon’s representatives for further comment.

Dr Nyla Raja, leading cosmetic doctor who has treated Simon’s friend Mel B, echoed the comments as she previously told MailOnline she believes the businessman has been left with a ‘drooping face.’

The health expert said: ‘Men also go through hormonal changes leading to a lack of collagenesis in the skin. Unfortunately when we lose weight the fatty tissue is also depleted from the face, leading one to look more drawn.

‘He’s not got the right people around him saying that’s enough. I often refuse clients if they want to go overboard with cosmetic treatments – I just want clients to look and feel like the best version of themselves in the safest possible way.

‘I am determined to provide only the best possible treatments, individual to each client, ensuring they have fantastic results. My responsibility first and foremost is to my clients health and wellbeing.

‘Simon’s fallen face and ‘sunken’ eyes are a result of the wrong treatments being advised to him, leading to the facial muscles starting to drop around the eye area.

‘I believe Simon should step away from cosmetic treatments for a while and try focusing on non-surgical treatments to lift and tighten the sagging skin.

‘I am a huge advocate of using a combination of non-invasive treatments such as ultrasound technology to lift the skin at its deepest level and radiofrequency to tighten the skin.

‘To revitalise the entire face I recommend an Intraceuticals Oxygen Facial as it is an effective, non-invasive way to enhance and restore the quality of your skin which may be affected by your lifestyle or as you age – or in Simon’s case – too many procedures!

‘Intraceutical facials use hyperbaric oxygen to enhance the delivery of serums used in treatments. Oxygen is a natural bacteria which helps keep the skin cool and calm during treatment.’

In 2018, the father-of-one admitted to having a facelift, but didn’t confirm when the procedure – which ‘hurt like hell’ – took place.

WHAT THE PLASTIC SURGEON SAYS…

Dr Alex Karidis, Plastic Surgeon at Karidis Clinic told MailOnline:

‘As we get older, gravity takes hold, the skin thins and we get what is called the deflation effect.

‘When we lose fat from our faces, the skin starts to sag, like a deflating balloon and the supporting muscles weaken.

‘The neck sags, as do the brows and upper and lower eyelids which can result in a droopy face. There is a truth to the saying, “fat don’t crack” and having a little extra fat on the face can result in the appearance of fewer wrinkles.

‘Because Simon has lost weight recently, his skin has started to droop

‘This can be remedied with weight gain, fat injected from other parts of the body or hyaluronic acid’

The Britain’s Got Talent judge previously told The Sun that he visited cosmetic surgeon Dr Jean-Louis Sebagh, known as the ‘Picasso of dermatology’, for a Silhouette Soft Lift.

Simon underwent a non-surgical ‘sewing bioplastic-infused thread’ facelift that set him back £2000.

The TV executive explained at the time: ‘For me now, it’s all about having clean skin. If you have clean skin, you look better. But you have to be very careful with some of this stuff.’

‘There’s lots of things you can do now. You don’t just have to stuff your face with filler and Botox. It hurts like hell but it gets rid of sun damage and unplugs all the cr*p.’

On rumours that he and his BGT co-star Amanda Holden have gone too far during the so-called ‘Botox Years’, the talent manager previously told The Mirror: ‘All of us are like, ”We had a lot that year. Not much that year… maybe a too much that year”.

‘You know, the old clips of us are hysterical, Amanda’s always like, ”What was I thinking?” I said, ”Well, I don’t look a lot better.” I look all right now, but certain years it was like, ”Wow’, I don’t know what was going on”.’

Simon once claimed using Botox ‘added 10 years’ to his TV career, but that he regrets going overboard with the procedure.

He said: ‘Hopefully I look better now – I probably did have a little too much Botox a couple of years ago, because everyone on TV has it.

‘Now I have facials, but nothing too extravagant at the moment. I have a girl who comes here and does a great face massage – it’s very relaxing. I also had a sheep placenta facial once, which was quite out there.’
