Spencer Pratt says The Hills reboot isn’t fake like the old series and reveals why Mischa Barton isn’t returning for the new season

The Hills: New Beginnings has just returned for a brand new season.

And leading man Spencer Pratt promises that it’s going to be the most authentic instalment of the reality series yet.

Speaking to Who magazine, the 37-year-old said that the New Beginnings reboot isn’t fake like the original show, which was fronted by Lauren Conrad.

‘The original series of The Hills was such a fake show’: Spencer Pratt says the new season of The Hills is much more authentic than the original

‘The original series of The Hills was such a fake show. It was great, but like a soap opera. It was all Lauren’s world,’ he said.

‘All of our cast say this is the most vulnerable they’ve been on screen,’ he said of the new season.

‘We see a new Brody [Jenner]. He really opens up about the mental drama he’s been going through.’

The Pratt Daddy Crystals founder also revealed that Mischa Barton hasn’t returned for the new season.

‘She was a fun thing last season, but she didn’t deliver. It’s hard to go from being an actress to being yourself on TV,’ he said.

Spencer and wife Heidi Montag are eager to add another child to their family of three.

The reality stars revealed they are actively trying to have a second child during an interview with People this week.

‘Still working as hard as possible at it,’ Spencer confessed after being asked to elaborate on the pair wanting to expand their family.

‘No spoiler alerts but no baby yet. That is the struggle in real life, reality,’ he added.

The couple, who wed in 2008, are already parents to three-year-old son Gunner Stone.
