Spicks and Specks host Adam Hills, 50, reveals his craziest moment with celeb

Adam Hills is set to reprise his role on the rebooted version of Spicks and Specks. 

And the 50-year-old comedian has revealed one of his craziest moments with a celebrity guest ahead of the new season of the show.   

Speaking to Woman’s Day this week, Adam recalled a particularly awkward moment with Status Quo guitarist, Rick Parfitt. 

‘I remember Rick Parfitt from Status Quo having a wee next to me before a show – at the urinal,’ Adam explained. 

‘I should point out! He turned to me and said: ”This must be where at the big knobs hang out”.’ 

Adam went on to say that one of his favourite guests was Weird Al Yankovic, who he ‘idolised.’

Adam recently downplayed the dangers of cancel culture, urging comics to be careful about offending people. 

He told News Corp last week the furore over cancel culture has been taken too far by people on both sides of the argument.

‘There is a group of people who would like to think that cancel culture is more than it is and there is a group of people who like to think they can ban stuff,’ he said.

‘The idea you can’t say anything in comedy any more, I’m not entirely sure what is it that you can’t say,’ he continued.

‘If you say it and you lose your audience, then you have probably said the wrong thing.’  

Adam is now preparing to front a new 10-episode run of Spicks and Specks on the ABC.

He will be joined by former team captains Alan Brough and Myf Warhurst in the reboot.

Sharing his excitement on Twitter last year, Adam shared the exciting news.  

‘Some people made banana bread in lockdown, we made a new series of #SpicksAndSpecks. Coming to your Aussie screens in 2021.’

Spicks and Specks returns on the ABC on Sunday, 7.40pm
