Stevie Nicks recreates viral Dreams video in hilarious clip as she joins TikTok after skateboarder turned Fleetwood Mac hit into online sensation

Stevie Nicks became the latest Fleetwood Mac star to join TikTok on Tuesday after a video inspired by one of her best-known songs went viral, prompting an unexpected chart-topping hit.  

The veteran band recently soared to the top of the iTunes chart with Dreams, originally a US number one in 1977, after it was used by skateboarder and TikTok enthusiast Nathan Apodaca.

In a short clip added to the social media platform, Apodaca – who uses the handle 420doggface208 – films himself miming the hugely popular track while drinking cranberry juice and skating across an empty highway.

The clip immediately went viral, and Stevie, 72, was quick to reference its popularity after following band-mate Mick Fleetwood’s lead by joining the TikTok community.

Singing along to her self-written track, the legendary star if filmed lacing a pair of skates while sitting in front of a gleaming piano – and a bottle of cranberry juice. 

Captioning the video, she wrote: ‘Afternoon vibe. Lace ’em up! #Dreams #FleetwoodMac #CranberryDreams.’

Bandmate Mick, 73, had previously emulated Apodaca’s video on TikTok after praising him for inadvertently uniting people during a difficult year. 

‘It was a reach out with a smile: “Here I am and here we go,”‘ he told Page Six of the clip. ‘It’s so what we need right now. And how cool is that?’

‘It was sort of a huge accident. This is hugely gratifying and it’s fantastic.’

The second single from iconic album Rumors, Dreams originally climbed to the No. 1 spot on the Billboard Hot 100 on June 18, 1977, and held that spot for one week. 

It has since found its way to the top of the iTunes chart, while also finding itself among the 50 most-streamed songs on Spotify. 

Meanwhile Apodaca has been crowned ‘Uncle TikTok’, ‘Jesus’ and ‘Vibe King’ following the release of his viral clip.

Reflecting on its success, he said: ‘After I did that video, as you guys know the sh*t went viral – holy sheep sh*t,’ he said in a follow up video.

‘I just want to say thank you from the bottom of my heart from DoggFace, me and my family, to all you guys.

‘No words that come to mind … just overnight sh*t’s been crazy. Thank you all for the donations, thank you all for the comments, thank you all for the gifts. I just appreciate everybody.’
