Strictly Come Dancing viewers call for Prince Harry to STAR in the show after he calls on fellow veteran JJ Chalmers to share sweet message of support

Strictly Come Dancing fans have called for Prince Harry to star in the show after he called on fellow veteran JJ Chalmers on Saturday’s show.

The Duke of Sussex, 36, wanted to share his support with the paralympian, 33, who he first met after the Royal Marine sustained injuries following an explosion when he was serving in Afghanistan.

Discussing their initial meeting, Prince Harry said: ‘When I first met JJ he was unsure of himself, but then to see you shine through Invictus and feel like yourself again that was a start of an amazing journey.’

Why not? Strictly Come Dancing viewers called for Prince Harry to STAR in the show after he called on fellow veteran JJ Chalmers to share a sweet message of support on Saturday

JJ shared his gratitude to Prince Harry, as he told the audience: ‘The simple fact is if Prince Harry had not created the Invictus I would not have had that catalyst moment that changed my life forever, I wouldn’t be here without him.’

He then told the Duke: ‘You know that your vision going into these games were taking this cohort of individuals and sending them off so they have an impact on society.’

Continuing to be supportive, Prince Harry praised JJ by adding: ‘I’m so proud, genuinely proud you’re in this position now, you’re not a dancer, proving you can do anything you put your mind to which is amazing.’

Fans called for Prince Harry to come onto the show and compete after they saw his surprise appearance to share his message of support.

Prince Harry and JJ met following the Royal Marine’s injuries after an explosion when he was serving in Afghanistan.

JJ said that he ‘should be in a box in the ground’ after nearly dying when an IED exploded near him causing him to suffer a crushed eye socket, burst eardrums and the loss of two fingers.

The TV presenter joined the Royal Marines Reserve in 2005 before quitting teaching and transferred to the regular service in 2010.

JJ formed such a close friendship with Harry that he and his wife Kornelia were invited to all three parts of his wedding to Meghan in May 2018.
