Strictly: Craig Revel Horwood has playful tiff with Anton Du Beke

Craig Revel Horwood put Anton Du Beke in his place on Strictly Come Dancing on Saturday night, after the dancer booed him while he was giving critique.

The judge was midway through giving Bill Bailey and Oti Mabuse feedback on their Jive, when Anton, 54, showed his disagreement of the dance being a ‘bit stompy’ by booing from the sidelines.

Smiling, Craig, 55, quipped: ‘Sorry Anton but you’re no longer up here’, in reference to the dancer filling in for fellow judge Motsi Mabuse for the last two weeks.

Craig added: ‘Sorry Anton but you’re no longer up here’, to which he received a chorus of boos, and joked: ‘That’s more like it!’.

Anton was over the moon when he was asked to step in as a guest judge after Motsi was forced to self-isolate for two weeks following an emergency trip to Germany.

The dancer revealed his wife Hannah Summers, 45, burst into tears after he got the call to fill in on the judging panel, joking she wanted him ‘out of the house’.

Speaking during an appearance on Wednesday’s Loose Women, the professional dancer discussed his judging experience after 16 years on the BBC show.

Sharing his wife’s emotional reaction, he said: ‘Hannah bless her burst into tears. It was so lovely. I think she was delighted to get me out the house!’

He added: ‘I picked great weeks to judge because everyone did really, really well.’
