Strictly’s Ranvir Singh admits she got VERY close to Giovanni Pernice during their tango

She’s been batting away rumours of an off dancefloor romance.

And although Strictly Come Dancing star Ranvir Singh continues to insist her sizzling chemistry with dance partner Giovanni Pernice stays on the floor, she has confessed the two have got very close in training.

Speaking on Wednesday’s Lorraine, the GMB star quipped that the hunky Italian ‘knows me better than my own GP now’ following their intimate Argentine tango which they performed on Saturday night.

Cheeky! Although Strictly star Ranvir Singh continues to insist her sizzling chemistry with dance partner Giovanni Pernice stays on the floor, she has confessed the two have got very close in training

Reflecting on the intense training required for their latest dance, for which they scored 27 points out of 30, Ranvir confessed to Lorraine of her cheeky dance partner:

‘I can’t actually tell you the words he uses… he says this part needs to be here, this parts needs to be there. I said you know me better than my own GP now! It’s so funny, it is a very unusual experience to be that close to someone.’

Ranvir, 43, did admit though that she has to work to keep up with her energetic partner, 30, especially considering the long hours she puts in at GMB before training.

‘The one thing I’m struggling to find is the energy,’ she admitted. ‘It doesn’t matter how much sleep Gio has, whether he’s eaten or not, his body is just ready… I’m just struggling to keep up.’

Despite the exhausting schedule, Ranvir added that she’s really found her passion for the show over the past couple of weeks, gushing:

‘I think I felt a definite change in the last two or three weeks, I’ve certainly gone into training this week feeling a bit better, less embarrassed.’

‘Gio is like “alright leg up” and I’m like “alright up we go!”… I’m putting myself into it, you’ve got to allow yourself to do it. Go for it full pelt or don’t do it.’

Asked once again if the two are dating, the presenter quipped: ‘We’re definitely not going out you can’t go out anywhere!’

The other main man in her life is Ranvir’s eight-year-old son, who the star says is ‘so supportive.’

‘It’s funny when you have an only child, you’re so close to them all the time, and now I took a step back I can see what a lovely person he is, he’s growing up to be a lovely person,’ she said.

Ranvir hasn’t been able to escape the romance rumours lately, and was even quizzed on if she has had any ‘hanky panky’ with her dance partner by host Piers Morgan during Tuesday’s episode of Good Morning Britain.

Piers, 55, recounted how he got Jane Torvill and Christopher Dean to ‘crack’ and reveal that they had once snogged on the back of a bus, during a Life Stories interview in 2013.

He then asked Ranvir, who was sat in the back of a taxi during the virtual interview: ‘So I’m asking you directly, has there been any hanky panky?’

However she insisted: ‘No of course not, there hasn’t! He’s [Giovanni] very much about the performance and all about the routines…’

Ranvir has previously denied there is any romance between her and Giovanni, insisting that they find the idea that they will be hit by the Strictly curse ‘very funny’.

Speaking to The Mirror, Ranvir revealed: ‘We both find the idea that we might get hit by the curse very funny – he is a 30-year-old man!’

Her Strictly rival Jamie Laing also said that he could not see a romance between the duo, as Ranvir has told him that she ‘hates’ Giovanni after a long day of rehearsals.

He continued: ‘He is so competitive and she is so laid back and it makes him furious, it’s hilarious. I just don’t see how the curse can happen.’

It comes after head judge Shirley, 60, revealed that she believes Ranvir could be ‘dark horse’ of show, as she praised her ‘special chemistry’ with Giovanni.

Shirley appeared on Monday’s instalment of Lorraine, where she discussed the high standard of performers this year in what she insists is the ‘toughest series yet.’

When Lorraine Kelly mentioned GMB’s own, Shirley was full of praise, saying: ‘Well let me tell you, Ranvir was all sizzle this weekend.

‘There was a sensuality about the female movement, there was something special in the chemistry between the two of them.

‘It was like they were just in a room all on their own and we were able to look in the windows. She is sensational… She could be the dark horse by the way.’

Speaking about the high standards on the show so far, Shirley said: ‘It’s the hardest, toughest series…sending anybody home is so difficult. I just urge everybody, please vote, make my job easy…
