Strictly’s Ranvir Singh beams behind her mask as she heads to training with pro Giovanni Pernice… after topping the leaderboard in Movie Week

She wowed viewers with an elegant Foxtrot that earned her the highest score of the series.

So no doubt Ranvir Singh was in high spirits as she headed to training with her professional partner Giovanni Pernice on Thursday.

The Good Morning Britain star, 43, flashed a quick smile from behind her mask as she headed into practice as she and Giovanni prepare to dance the Cha Cha this weekend.

Happy: Strictly Come Dancing star Ranvir Singh, 43, was in high spirits as she headed to training with her professional partner Giovanni Pernice on Thursday

Ranvir cut a casual figure in a dark green jumper as she carried her essentials in a woven tote bag.

The broadcaster was clearly feeling the pain of hours in the training room as she arrived with her sock-clad feet in white slippers.

Giovanni followed close behind as the duo headed to practice as they prepare to dance to Oye Como Va by Santana this weekend.

On Wednesday Ranvir said taking part in the show has helped to reignite ‘pride’ in her figure.

She told The Sun: ‘It’s not really about weight actually or anything like that. It’s more just the fact that you’re using your body at quite a rate that I’ve never used it before.

‘I’ve never been a gym bunny. I don’t really enjoy exercise, and therefore, using your body, repeating it hour after hour, movement after movement, and then realising that your body is capable of a lot more.

‘I write myself off quite a lot, but Strictly is reigniting a small modicum of pride in what my body can achieve, even though I take ill upon it. I think that’s the joy of Strictly.’

Ranvir and Giovanni wowed the judges with their stellar performance on Saturday, dancing a Foxtrot to Love You I Do from Dreamgirls, earning them the highest score of the series so far.

Shirley Ballas said: ‘It’s our Movie star looking couple for sure, beautiful frame, you just displayed this, so simple but so beautiful. I just love quality. When I see quality I get so excited and that’s exactly what I saw with you.’

Motsi Mabuse added: ‘Can we just declare this National foxtrot day! From one to the next and beautiful and you two compliment each other so well I see a lady I see a man, it takes time to show that quality I just forget the technique because you are the dance.’

This weekend the ten remaining couples will take to the dancefloor once again to try and win the viewers’ vote, after Jason Bell and Luba Mushtuk were eliminated last week.

Nicola Adams and Katya Jones narrowly avoided elimination after ending up in the dance-off, but managed to win the judges vote after taking to the floor to perform their jive.

Strictly Come Dancing continues on Saturday at 7:10pm on BBC One.
