Sunrise host Samantha Armytage shows off her new wedding ring while shopping in Sydney

Married life certainly seems to be agreeing with Samantha Armytage.

Almost a month after marrying businessman Richard Lavender, the 44-year-old Sunrise host happily showed off her wedding and engagement rings during a shopping trip.

Samantha was spotted shopping in Sydney’s Paddington on Thursday after hosting the hit Channel Seven breakfast show earlier in the day.

The TV host looked chic in a white miniskirt, which she paired with a loose-fitting black button-up shirt.

She rounded out her summery ensemble with a pair of snakeskin slip-on sandals, and carried a camel-coloured tote bag.

Her shoulder-length blonde hair was tied up in a half-up, half-down style with a topknot, and her stunning diamond wedding and engagement rings added some extra glamour.

After stopping in at a local boutique, Samantha was spotted trying on a variety of headbands.

Looking at her reflection in a mirror, Samantha tried on a black braided headband along with a pale pink headband. 

She then left the store and returned to her car, which was parked out on the street, navigating the wet weather.

Her outing came after a report by The Sydney Morning Herald last month, which claimed her position at Seven was ‘one of the biggest question marks of 2021’.

Samantha denied the allegations and accused the journalist who authored the piece of doing a hatchet job on her because Sunrise had beaten Nine’s Today show in the ratings. 

The Channel Nine-owned newspaper claimed Samantha’s priorities may shift from her career to ‘marriage and starting a family’ with Richard, 60.

Channel Seven declined to comment at the time.

They exchanged vows in a ceremony at his home shortly before midday, then moved to a luncheon at the Centennial Vineyards Restaurant in Bowral.  

Samantha looked stunning on her special day in a white long-sleeve dress by Carla Zampatti with a matching ribbon in her hair.

The intimate ceremony featured only a small number of guests due to the COVID-19 pandemic, with Richard’s daughters, Sasha and Grace, believed to be in attendance.

A source told Daily Mail Australia of the nuptials: ‘Champagne was flowing, and at one point they had several waiters attending to their every need.

‘However, they didn’t get any VIP treatment, and while they were away from other guests, they were sitting among locals and tourists.’  

Samantha and Richard started dating in April 2019, and announced their engagement in June last year.
