Sam Armytage flashes her diamond wedding and engagement rings as she gushes over her nuptials with Richard Lavender on Sunrise

Sam Armytage married millionaire businessman Richard Lavender at his Southern Highland’s estate on December 31.

And the TV presenter, 44, proudly showed off her diamond engagement ring and wedding band upon her return to the Sunrise news desk on Monday.

‘We did have a lovely time on New Year’s Eve,’ she said.

‘We decided three days before we were going to get married and we did. It was lovely. Twelve of us there and it was just gorgeous,’ she said.

After being introduced as ‘Samantha Lavender’ on the show, the journalist beamed as she conspicuously rested her left hand on the desk.

Sam then explained why she and Richard, 60, had decided to get married on New Year’s Eve, instead of at a later date.

‘We just didn’t know when we were going to get it done,’ she said.

‘Rich’s family were all in lockdown on the northern beaches so they couldn’t come, my sister is in London, and dad was like, “Just do it.” We’ve done it. Dad loves a party so we gave him one.’

The Lavenders tied the knot at Richard’s 40-hectare property in the picturesque Southern Highlands.

They exchanged vows at his home shortly before midday, then moved to a luncheon at the Centennial Vineyards Restaurant in Bowral.

The intimate ceremony only featured a small number of guests due to the Covid-19 pandemic, with Richard’s daughters, Sasha and Grace, believed to be in attendance. 

Sam and Richard started dating in April 2019, and announced their engagement in June last year.
