A video shows the moment surgeon Igor Anokhin, 26, popped the question to Ekaterina Vnukova, 24, in the hospital where they work with coronavirus patients at Krasnoyarsk Regional Hospital.
Other medics – all also wearing full hazmat suits – cheered as she said yes, eight months after the pair first met treating intensive care patients.

‘When I decided to propose, I didn’t hesitate for a moment. But I was terribly worried,’ said Igor.
‘We met at the hospital at the end of April and at first just talked.
‘Getting to know each other better, we understood we had been looking for each other all our lives.

‘And we became a couple.’
The proposal was under the seasonal tree ahead of Russian Orthodox Christmas Day on Thursday, January 7.
The happy moment came as a joyful interlude in a tough winter in Krasnoyarsk city and region, which has been hit hard by Covid-19 infections.
The region – the second largest geographically in Russia – is in the top dozen for virus infections.
