The comedian, 56, spoke on Tuesday’s Good Morning Britain, saying the UK need a song that is a ‘huge celebration of Britishness’ after James Newman’s Embers scored zero points.
The group’s success as they were picked as Italy’s Eurovision contenders attracted controversy earlier this year, as they were forced to defend themselves against plagiarism accusations.
On Saturday night, the UK was the only country to receive zero points and finished in last place, with Italy’s act Måneskin coming in first with a staggering 524 points.
