Taylor Swift had a Folklore cardigan specially delivered to Kobe Bryant’s daughter Natalia

Taylor Swift has been sending out replicas of the now iconic cardigan she donned in the music video for her album Folklore’s lead single Cardigan to her closest pals.

And the 30-year-old singer had one specially delivered to Kobe Bryant’s 17-year-old daughter Natalia, who has proven to be a huge fan of Swift’s over the years.

‘Thank you SO much @taylorswift. I am obsessed with folklore,’ wrote Natalia, who showed off the stylish cardigan on her Instagram Story.

Natalia’s mom and Kobe’s wife Vanessa Brant, 38, took to her Instagram page to thank Taylor for her generosity.

‘Thank you @taylorswift #Cardigan,’ captioned Vanessa on a photo of Natalia posing with her Folklore inspired gift.

Swift has a lengthy history with the Bryant family, staring in 2015 when Kobe surprised her on stage at her sixteenth sold-out Staples Center show in Los Angeles.

During Swift’s Reputation tour in 2018, Natalia and her younger sister Gianna, 13, joined Taylor backstage for a post-show hangout and photo session in Pasadena.

On January 27 of this year, Kobe Bryant and his 13-year-old daughter Gianna tragically died in a plane crash that killed a total of nine people.

Upon learning the news, Taylor took to Twitter to express how much Kobe meant to her and that her heart was aching for Vanessa and the remaining Bryant girls, Natalia, Bianka, three, and Capri, one.

‘My heart is in pieces hearing the news of this unimaginable tragedy. I can’t fathom what the families are going through,’ began Swift in her emotional tweet.

‘Kobe meant so much to me and to us all. Sending my prayers, love, and endless condolences to Vanessa and the family and anyone who lost someone on that flight,’ she concluded.

Since the crash, Vanessa has been keeping Kobe and Gianna’s memories alive on social media.

On Saturday, she uploaded a photo of her sneaker, which had ‘#KOBE’ and ‘#GIGI’ written on it in black ink.

Swift released her eighth studio album Folklore at midnight on Friday, as well as the music video for the album’s lead single Cardigan.

Aside from positive public opinion, Swift’s label Republic Records let the numbers speak for themselves by revealing Folklore’s impressive first day sales on Saturday

In the first 24 hours, Folklore ‘exceeded 1.3 million copies sold globally’ and broke the record on Spotify for ‘global first day record streams by a female artist with 80.6 million streams,’ according to Just Jared.

On the rival streaming platform Apple Music, Folklore amassed 35.47 million streams in one day, making it ‘the most streamed pop album on Apple Music in 24 hours.’

In terms of critical acclaim, Folklore surpassed Swift’s seven prior albums and is now considered her highest rated album on Metacritic with a score of 9.6.

Taylor’s close pal Blake Lively took to Instagram on Saturday to compliment the album.

‘Thank you @taylorswift,’ began the 32-year-old Gossip Girl star. ‘Can we all just please crawl inside that piano with you and live in this album?’

Blake was referencing the mystical piano Taylor crawled into in the music video for Folklore’s lead single Cardigan, which also premiered Friday.

‘Like you, Folklore is full of heart, soul, humor, passion, intelligence, wit, whimsy, reality, imagination, strength, vulnerability, and above all things: LOVE,’ concluded Lively.

Her affectionate tribute comes amid a seemingly confirmed fan theory that suggests a song on Folklore titled Betty unveiled the name of Blake’s nine-month-old daughter.

A source close to the situation alleged to People that the song was in fact ‘named in part’ for Lively’s third daughter, whom the actress shares with husband Ryan Reynolds.

The beloved Hollywood couple welcomed their third daughter in October of 2019, but have yet to reveal her name to the public.

Blake and Ryan – who wed in 2012 – also share daughters James, five, and Inez, three.

Fans of Taylor Swift were further convinced that the 30-year-old singer had unveiled Blake and Ryan’s third daughter’s name because she also used the names of the couple’s other two daughters in the song.

‘Betty, I know where it all went wrong,’ sings Swift, before launching into two lines that read: ‘You heard the rumors from Inez / You can’t believe a word she says’ and ‘She said, ‘James, get in, let’s drive.”

Taylor and Blake have been friends since around 2015, so it is no wonder that the Grammy Award-winner would pay homage to the actress’ growing family.

With 16 original tracks to scour through, fans quickly made note of any potential easter eggs hidden in the lyrics by Swift.

In her song Mad Woman, Swift appears to make reference to her ongoing feud with former label boss Scott Borchetta and Justin Bieber’s manager Scooter Braun.

In June of 2019, Taylor was shocked to learn that Braun’s Ithaca Holdings not only acquired Big Machine Records, but also her entire six-album music catalog, according to Billboard.

Swift has since called out Borchetta and Braun for hijacking her ‘art’  and claims that she did not give permission for the sale to take place.

‘It’s obvious that wanting me dead has really brought you two together,’ sings Swift in one poignant line.

‘What a shame she went mad, no one likes a mad woman. You made her like that. And you’ll poke that bear till her claws come out.’

Taylor hints in one line that she has not given up on the fight to acquire the rights to her music.

‘They say, ‘Move on’ but you know I won’t. And women like hunting witches too,’ she sings.

Folklore’s fifth track titled My Tears Ricochet, which happens to be the first song written for the album, also makes reference to the tumultuous situation.

She sings about ‘stolen lullabies’ and how she ‘can go anywhere I want. Anywhere I want, just not home.’

‘And you can aim for my heart, go for blood, but you would still miss me in your bones,’ she continues.

On a happier note, Swift appears to allude to her infamous ex boyfriend Joe Jonas and his impending child with wife Sophie Turner in the song Invisible String.

‘Cold was the steel of my axe to grind / For the boys who broke my heart / Now I send their babies presents,’ sings Taylor, who dated Jonas from July of 2008 until October of that year.

A month after their breakup, Taylor famously put Joe on blast for breaking up ‘with [her] over the phone,’ during a sit down interview with talk show host Ellen DeGeneres.

‘[Joe] is not in my life anymore, unfortunately. That’s ouch. … Someday I’m gonna find someone really, really great who’s right for me,’ she explained.

‘When I find that person that is right for me…he’ll be wonderful. And when I that person, I’m not even gonna be able to remember the boy who broke up with me over the phone in 25 seconds when I was 18.’

With Swift now in a love-filled relationship with her boyfriend Joe Alwyn and Jonas happily married to Turner, it appears the former pair have an amicable.

Joe and Sophie tied the knot in May of last year following the Billboard Music Awards in Las Vegas.

Though the majority of music lovers and critics have expressed their love for Folklore, rock band Smash Mouth appeared less than enthralled with Swift’s latest album.

‘borelore,’ tweeted the band, who is best known for their song All Star and their cover of The Monkees’ 1967 hit I’m A Believer.

Once fans of Taylor got wind of Smash Mouth’s blatant shade, they quickly came to their idol’s defense and criticized the artistic integrity of band’s work.

‘your career is ogre,’ wrote one comical Twitter user, who was referencing the band’s association with the Dreamworks animated film Shrek.

Shrek was a common theme among the angry tweets that were hurled in Smash Mouth’s direction.

‘be quiet shrek band,’ tweeted one passionate Swift fan, while another reminded the band that ‘Taylor could do shrek , but [they] couldn’t do folklore. Be humble.’

Despite the clear outrage over their comment, Smash Mouth has yet to remove the tweet from their Twitter page.

Smash Mouth may not have been feeling Taylor’s latest musical endeavor, but Hollywood A-lister Nicole Kidman proved to be a big fan in her latest Instagram post.

In a brief video clip – shared with her 7million followers – Nicole can be seen rocking a similar get-up to the one Taylor is wearing on the cover of Folklore, while on the set of her 2017 film The Beguiled.

‘On the set of #BeguiledMovie #Folklore Sisters… Love this album,’ captioned Kidman, who also included a shot of the Folklore cover art.

Fellow singer Halsey had nothing but love and admiration for Swift as she took to Instagram to remark on the ‘beautiful confessional album’ that is Folklore.

‘Cheers to my sweet friend. Who cures over tonic, who soothes a broken heart with sarcastic remarks, who sends gifts gilded in secret affirmations,’ she began.

‘And congratulations to you, on a beautiful confessional album. It is as careful, compulsive, hardened, and tender of a contradiction as an artist can and should be.

‘My new refuge in these time, and no doubt it would come from you. [HEART EMOJI] @taylorswift,’ concluded the You Should Be Sad songstress.

She also included a photo of what appeared to be a thoughtful present from Swift that included a gorgeous feather quill.

Modern Family star Jesse Tyler Ferguson and his husband Justin Mikita showed off the cardigans – replicas of the one Taylor wore in her music video for her album’s lead single Cardigan – that were sent to them by Swift.
